How long does the withdrawls last?

Ok let me start by saying,  I am 25 married with a 2 yr old.  When I was 7 I started using very heavily meth and cocaine.  After oding and almost dieing I self committed myself into a drug rehab.   Helped all the way up until I turned 21, thats when the damn life sucking vicodon just fell into my life.  I started taking maybe 1 to 2 a day and up till 2 days ago 4 and a half yrs later I was taking about 15 a day.  When I realized that this drug was sucking the soul out of me and changing my whole personality I realized something needed to be done.  I dare not trudge down the road when I almost died and thats what vicodin is doing to me.  What I want to say is the withdrawls from the coke and meth arent even comparible to how horrible I feel.  I want so much to stay clean and never go through this again, I guess thats why us addicts just need to sit back and tell ourselves that if we do this again we have to go through detox all over again. who wants that.  like someone said in a thread i read 1 is to much 1000 is never enough.  When can I start to feel normal again? Today is day 2 clean, and compared to yesterday I feel somewhat better.  I motivated myself to get up play with the kiddo and clean my entire house, now Im writing this and cooking dinner.  But let me tell you the damn cravings are nonstop.  My moods are horrible and I look at my daughter and its like she can see right through me.  My husband is very supportive but he doesnt know what this is like.  Well just thought I would share what Im going through right now.

hi, your doing ok, well done on 2 days, physical withdrawals usually last 5/7 days, but it varies from person to person, remember to drink plenty of fluids, thats important, get imodium for any stomache problems, get some valerian root for relaxation and melatonin to help with sleep, i really wish you well, god bless.

Hi, I am on day 24 without Vicoden, I don't want scare you  but I was sick for 8 days, then the emotional and leg cramps got me. But it was worth it. I sept last night without pain in my legs and for 6 hours without waking up. It was great, if I can do it so can you. I am proud of you and just keep posting sometimes you don't get a response but just keep posting until someone gives you incouragement. Good for you, just do it, prayers to you!
