How long should you be on Clonidine?

I have tapered off of subox, the doctor put me on Clonidine to take 3 times a day.  So far, I feel fine, in fact this is the best I have felt in a while.  I was on put on subox. four years ago for pain management, not for detox.  It took me almost 2 years to taper of of subox, but when I got down to 0.25mg, the doctor put me on this Clonidine.  Is my feeling good only because of this new medication?  Am I going to need to taper off of something else now?  WTF?  I really need to know because I want to be off of any and all medications and not dependent on something else.

I have been on the Clonidine for just about a month now.   I have missed a dose here and there, and man that is not something I want to try to do.. That is why I am kind of worried about it.  I take 0.1mg, 3 times a day.  I missed the one I usually take right before going to sleep and I woke up around 3 or 4am with the worst migrane headace in the world.

The other thing I notice, is I feel quite comfortable during most of the day, and have been able to fall asleep once again (I had horrible insomnia while tapering off sub,) but once I am sleeping, I wake up early in the morning feeling quite crappy.   I wake up during the night and my pillow is soaked and feel real dehydrated and need to drink lots of water during the night.  But even when I was on sub, I used to wake up with night sweats, so I just don't know if it is w/d's or the Clonidine or something else.

Once I am awake, I start to feel better.

I hope this goes away, anyone know or has experienced symptoms like this before, please enlighten me.

you will be fine...although you cant just stop the clonidine, you do have to taper just to prevent rebound high blood pressure...i was on it for 10 days then tapered off it in 5-6 days...it is not addictive...but go slow with the taper to protect yourself...
great job getting off the suboxone!  congratulations to you!

i dont believe u will have any withdrawal like effects from clonidine, its used to lower your blood pressure which i believes helps with the withdrawals from the suboxone. once your fully dont with withdrawing off of the suboxone im sure you will be taken off clonidine then as long as you dont have to deal with mental cravings your physical withdrawal will have been made as painless as possible lucky you
