How to get help????

I have been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years now and I have been threw everything with him. I don't use and I have been there to support and try and get him clean he went from dope, heroin, coke, alcohol, weed everything. Currently he  just smokes weed and drinks but, he has major anger issues where he will get mad for no reason and he want to get help but he doesn't know where to go and I don't either. I have never dealt with these kinds of things and I have tried finding somewhere that isn't going to expensive but he needs one on one help someone that understands what he is going threw. His mom died when he was a teenager and I don't think he has ever truly dealt with it. He doesn't know how to deal with his emotions he has always covered it up with pills or drinking or some sort of drug. If anyone has any advise we would greatly appreciate it....

Wow your boyfriend sounds exactly like one of my best friends. It's very hard to help someone else, but there are places that he can go, mens centers or counselors that he can apply for government funding to see. AA/NA is a great place to go for this too. If he is not drinking too much he may be able to detox at home and get himself to some of these meetings, where he will find people with problems like his and worse, and he can work through those problems there. The good thing about the meetings (besides the help) is that they're free. Good luck!

Welcome friend.There is a great network on MH that you can join..they have a dpression forum.There should be some kind of clinic where you live for lower income people needing counselling help.Maybe check with them?They could point you in the right direction.A lot of churches offer free counselling as well with the pastors.NA is also a greta tool to be used for the drug addiction.Sounds like your bf does need help with his anger mgt. issues though.Having you there to support him is great.Stay strong,and good luck to you both.Keep posting to let us know how you're doing!~Anne
