How to handle a relapse?

I made a mistake and took two lortab 10s tonight. How do I handle a relapse? Beat myself up? Or look at it as I've taken 2 pills in the past three days and that i've made progress?

Don't beat yourself up, that will just make you feel bad and you may end up starting the madness again. Not sure of your story but remember the madness of addiction? You don't want that again do you? Go to a meeting...Read some of these questions on this forum, you'll remember then. Be good to yourself.

Don't beat yourself up...But definitely look at the reason why you relapsed...What was the trigger?  Also-really important to get rid of all pills and connections to pills..Set yourself up to be successful....  Are you in any form of aftercare?  The more support you have getting clean and staying clean, the better.  Take good care and keep us posted....Lu

Beating yourself up wont get you anywhere so dont do that.  I would get rid of any remaining pills as they will call your name.  What happened that lead to this?  Think about recovery care.  We learn the tools we need to get and stay clean.

HI time topick yourself up dust yourself off and move on live and learn but in order to beat this thing your going to have to change all persons places and things that remind you of using .....in order to beat this thing the very way you think and reason must change you do that threw aftercare once you start living in recovery not just quiting the pills you will find life will smooth out a bit for you untill then your just a dry addict keep posting talk to us we can help you good luck and God bless.......Gnarly
