Hydro condone with drawl

I have been on Lor-tabs now norcos for about 7 years I was taking 90 a month plus buying 30 to 40 more because I would run out, I got on them when I had back surgery and shoulder surgery, I am wanting off bad but have been warned about suboxon that it is harder that the pills. I want to do this at home. What meds do I need to make it happen and how long will the withdrawl last. I have been off for about 5 days and the going to the bathroom with stomach pain is over. I just feel bad and cannot sleep good and hurt all over and really dont have much energy. I'm 56 years old and have been checking my blood pressure and it has been high at times but I have been taking meds to lower it. I want off this stuff bad and I want my life back!!

Congratulations Bamaforlife,  Well Done It gets better I am now day 15 off  Actiq  (Oral Fentanyl).
Loperamide is a must for the diarrhoea. Try to eat at normal meal times even if its a tiny amount on a large plate and you only eat a few mouthfuls make sure its nutritious. I couldn't so I took high calorie nutritional supplements, plenty of vitamins. good diet helps raise serotonin levels.
Diazepam 2mg for emergency use only. I spent 3 hours really sad/crying and upset--- why I do not know but it was withdrawal only happened once .
Clonidine helps with high blood pressure and sweats. I couldn't use it as low BP.
Exercise or do at least one activity a day even if you are exhausted it help raise serotonin level, all to do with your natural happy hormones.
Mine settled to bearable by day 10. So now reducing the fentanyl patch
My worst thing was the cravings so make sure you have no access to your poison at all. I went a short trip away so I had no access and took what I did have to pharmacy for destruction.
Try a natural sleep remedy from the pharmacy or health food store.
You are over the worst    DO NOT SLIP BACK  Good luck and lots of warm hugs You can do it.
Snuggle in a blanket and watch some comedy films is best advice I was given. I think laughing raises your serotonin level. You will see a better person come out at the end. be proud of your achievements. If it fails try again.

yes, congrats!  like motye said, you are probably through the worst of it.   i also agree about the exercise ... the more energy you expend, the more you'll get, and sooner.  Even though you don't feel like it (at least I didn't), you need to get moving a little bit every day. 'hurting all over,' and being unable to sleep are both common parts of w/d.  be patient with the process (i know it's hard) and try to find some things you like to watch on tv or read for those long nights.  eventually you will begin to feel better, and you will get energy back gradually.  it's worth it!  keep going!

To start with....congrats on day 5...this is awesome!

You really are towards the end of the w/d so what your going to be left with is lethargic feeling, a bit spacey, no energy, etc....  Taking a good mulitvitamin, Vit B12, potassium, I used a med called L-Tyrosine which you can get at GNC.  Right now, it really important to put good food in your system and if you can excercise.  Even if it's just walking around the block...DO IT!!!!  The more you force yourself to move, the quicker this feeling will start to subside. I would advise against anything with high caffeine b/c it could cause anxiety/ panic issues.  Fish, Chicken, dark green leafy veges (greens, spinach, etc) I could actually feel physical differences right after eating, once I was able to keep food in me.  Drink LOTS of water, water with lemon!  Really, in the beginning, I had to force myself to put one foot in front of the other....literally!  But you have to do it!
Good luck to you on your journey.....I also want to mention that aftercare has an impact on your energy level as well.  Food for thought!
