Hydro withdrawal question ---- urgent

I am on day 11 or 12 now..... I had a wisdom tooth removed today. They also said I had a dead tooth and they did a root canal and crown, just with the temporary today ... Had to put in one stitch. I was in office from 11-4 pm . I am still numb now but they wrote me a script for amoxicillin and perodan (24)...... Will I blow my sobriety if I have to take a few of these or since it is another drug is it different? Can I make it on ibuprophen ? If anyone knows please respond. I have dropped at pharmacy and haven't picked up yet and no I didn't tell the dentist I had trouble with meds... Any advice would be appreciated.

Im getting my last two out today. I'm giving my pills to my roommate bc you and I know that a bottle of Oxys in our hand is going straight up the nose. If you do that of course. Either that or we will take them just for the high and not for the pain. Just be careful.

Icing reslly will help tremendously, 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. That with 800 mg ibuprofen might work without needing more.  I wound up getting two teeth pulled, one which took tons of work to remove.  I was very concerned about the pain but with icing  & ibuprofen it was just sore.

I went and got meds but haven't taken any painkillers. It says they are 4.8/325 oxycodone . I guess that is as low as you can get . Only a quantity of 24.  I will see how tonight goes, face is still numb but going to try to go without if possible. I have talked to a couple people who said they didn't need pain pills with dental work. I may be singing a different tune about 3 am when face isn't numb. Thank again

hi....i agree with the above posters....just try the ibuprofen but you may need something stronger...you did have alot done today....and yes let a friend or spouse hold your pills so you won't be tempted to take more than you should if you get them filled....just try not to stress about it, that will only make it worse....just take care of yourself...addicts do not need to suffer just because they cannot take pain pills like they did before.  Good luck and post for support!

bkitty has given you great advice. Day 12 is not really long enough to have built a solid wall and although one script may not set you back to physical w/d it may mentally. Give those pills to someone to dole out. You should not be in pain. As my wise friend dash says. An injury does not equal a relapse. Ice that mouth of yours  and feel better.

You can try the ibruprofen but I doubt that will help to much~You had a lot of work done. No you are not blowing your sobriety. If you feel you can take them responsibly then you will~If you are worried you can have your spouse hold them and give them to you as needed. That's what I have done in the past. Just because you are an addict doesn't mean that you have to be in pain. Hope you feel better soon. ((hugs))
