How do you taper off of hydrocodone 750 five pills twice a day?

kimmi you can def. do it, but you ahve to honestly want to be off opiates completely to actually get cleana nd stay clean....i would take it slow, better safe than sorry, go at your won pace there is no time limit and the less discomfort or wds you experience the better obviously, so i would go to 4 pills twice daily , then try every other day or if tahts too fast 3 days, go to 3 pills twice daily, until you get to two pills one taken in the morning and one at night...if you go slow(like over a month or two) by that time you will have literally no wd symptoms, you amy have mental cravigns anxiety and your brain may play tricks on you, creating pain, saying you need opiates, or that you cant taper this fast,etc etc etc, but its all a game the opiates have put on your brain, theya re decieving eveil beings from the inner depths of hell...it will destroy everyone and anyone no matter who you are or what you take, an opiate/opioid is an opiate/opioid, anyway you look at it you will become addicted and it will control your whole life destroying everything you have...youve made a great choice in wanting to come off stick with it and get off youll feel amazing liveing a true life not enslaved to stupid pills, best of luck and stay strong you def. can do this..christos

number one he needs to spread those 10 pills out,,instead of taking 5 at once..like 2 pills 3-4 hours apart..then go down from there....that would be a taper and most addicts can no taper on their own and he will need someone to dispense them to her...write out a taper with a QUIT day...and go from there..tell him to read the health pages as lots of great info there....at that dose he could  also CT ...number one as u know is he has to want this...and get him to post as posting helps alot

hey guys, i need to give you a little more background info on this one. this is my sister and it is her husband that is addicted not her. she is trying to do a taper on him. he as been taking hydro on and off since age of 18. more in the last several years. he takes 5 pills at one time twice a day. as you all know i am an addict myself and this forum has helped me TREMENDOUSLY in the past. please anyone that can help her with a taper will be greatly appreciated.

Are you taking 5 pills 7.5s at one time twice a day?  I'm not sure I understand what you mean.  I too was addicted to hydrocodone.  How many pills do you have left?  For me, I tapered for about 2 days and then went cold turkey because I ran out of pills and decided I did not want to do this anymore.  I know my doctor would have called in more for me, but I was DONE!  Once we know all that, we can better help you.  

I think it's wonderful you want to do this!!!  You CAN do it and it will be difficult in the beginning, but so WORTH it!
