I CAN'T TAKE THIS WITHDRAWAL

I have never abused drugs in my life before, and before I knew it I was under the trap of this drug. I hate it.Thanks for the advice. I did 6 yesterday. I took 2 this morning at 6:30 and I planned to quit altogether today, but at 3:00 p.m. I just couldn't take it anymore.  I took 2 and 30 minutes later a 10 minute nap. I am missing all day at work and probably next week. I am trying to fast?? I called my doc today, after he finally got my results from the emergency room yesterday, and he still has not called back. I think I will take 6 today. How long will it take if I stay on 6, until I feel normal again? I hate tramadol. I thought with me taking Lexapro, I would be ok but I am not. I pray and pray, and I know God hears me, but I don't know what to do?? I am begging you or anyone to tell me when this hell would be over. When I tried to quit today, I could not sit still and got up every 5 minutes to pee or shake.  Please help. Where is the light???

Congrats- If it were easy to quit, it would be so much easier to start again... The number of days varies so much between different people. I will say this, I am on day two, 43 1/2 hours approx now, and i am starting to feel better already altho it may worsen over the next couple days. I hope it gets better, but all the poison has to get purged, it just takes time. I'm rooting for you... And you are right, the power of prayer is amazing

Hi there.  I just wanted you to know that I was put on a great weaning program.  I wanted instant results but found out that it takes a little while to get through this. For some it can take a few months. I was put on a weaning program that started at 60 tabs a week. (for me that was rough) I was addicted to vicodin.  I promise you that I went through the whole gambit of w/ds. I had the terrible shakes every single time I wanted to sleep, I could not because I was shaking and felt horrible. I had horrible cramps and vomiting and I couldn't think straight.  As soon as I started the weaning program through my doctor - I began to feel a little bit better weekly.  I wanted instant results and I was told repeatedly not to worry about the instant results. I was told by my doctor to trust the weaning program.  Well, I did and now I am taking 2 vicodins a day instead of 8- and it has only been 1 month. I am actually ahead of the program and I promise you the w/ds from weaning are barely there.  Just hang in there and I will say a prayer for you also..... I truly understand the fear and the pain. I also truly know that it will get better.
Take care, and keep it up.......

hey chad,
continue to pray, He does indeed hear. i too am a christian. my husband is also a believer and had been clean for 14 years and started to use again. so he went on methadone big mistake and stayed on it ten years. so when he was ready to get clean he went to a christian drug rehab. my point is the Lord greatly reduced his withdrawal symptoms and the length of his withdrawal. you are blessed to have your wifes support. ask for others in your church to pray also. you and your family deserve a clean and sober husband and father. you can do it. you put the poison in your body and it has to come out, it will take awhile but you will start to feel better as the days and weeks go by,press on toward that mark, He is the author and the finisher of your faith, keep the faith. He is able to deliver you from this addiction.
i will keep you and your family in prayer.
God bless you,
debbie

Yes let your body adjust to the six before you drop again it wont take as long as u think . How much lexapro are you taking? the two mixed have interactions that can be scary as well.baths with epsom salts a magnesium calcium supplement can help as well.Sleep is going to be a problem for a while but you can do it .Many  of us have we are here to help.

Hey.  Gnarly sent me a message!  : )

The thing is that it's impossible to say when you will feel better as long as you are still taking the pills and trying to cut back so much.  You really need to talk to a doctor.  If your doc won't call you back then go and talk to another one. Find someone who will help you with a taper plan that you can stick to and that is realistic.  You went from a huge dose to 6 a day, and that is not a proper taper.  It's basically cold turkey.  I mean, not exactly, but basically!  You may need a doctor to give you some meds to help you too. Clonidine works well, lowers the BP and reduces anxiety without being addictive. It helps a lot of the symptoms.

What is happening to you right now is that your body and brain are trying to adjust to a HUGE drop in dose.  If you stick to 6 a day, your body will eventually adjust and you can drop again.  However, it's going to be a few days before that happens.  Maybe a week.

Keep posting ok?  And if your doc doesn't call you back, find another one!
