I posted to you last night Terra. I have ovarian cysts that hurt EXTREMELY bad. So I can understand some of that pain. I am addicted to Loricets. I am kind of in the same situation as you. I cannot miss work, so therefore I need my meds. I am also prescribed to others for my anxiety, I started taking Suboxone in September 08'...shortly there after I relapsed and went back to 10-15 Loricets a day. I am really sorry about the pain your in, but I can very much relate to you. Suboxone is extremely expesnsive!!! The Suboxone might work for you. It did for me, until I started hanging out with my friends that had habits. Never a good idea! It is not a miracle drug, but it would work, as long as you follow the doctor's EXACT specifications, and taper dwn quickly...but not too quickly! You also have to have the funds to do that. I still have some of my script to it, but can't take off of work quite yet to start back up. I relapsed and I so regret that, but I had to move on and I am slowly tapering down. Like a lot of people in this forum have suggested the Thomas Recipe...I would give that a shot. I just don't have access to all of the ingredients...or some of the things they suggest to do in the recipe (sitting in a sauna) are very hard for me to find. What kind of work do you do? Could you play hookie for a week, and try the Thomas Recipe? Knowing your life situation might help us help you a lot more. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP POSTING! THIS FORUM IS WNDERFUL AND THE PEOPLE IN IT ARE GREAT WITH ADVICE!!!

You are going to require a major change in your life, missing work will be the least of your worries. I know exactly what you are going through and here is the thing you take the pills to feel great and make it through the day even knowing we are in pain that's not why we are taking them. Its no matter what the problem is the pills make us feel great all the time except when we realize we are destroying ourselves to feel a temp high. When the Dr. stop supplying we turn to the streets. We then blow all our money and put ourselves in bad situations trying to feel better and fight off the WD. This is the point where if we don't change we no longer do the drugs the drugs do us. You can try (1) to taper this requires you to tell someone about your problem and they will have to give you your pills and follow the plan no matter how much you are hurting and you must no give in to the streets (this is hard). (2) Cold Turkey, see the health pages for the THOMAS RECIPE 5-6 days of hell (if you can the best way to go). (3) suboxone ** READ the HEALTH PAGES (this is what I am doing not sure it was the best choice), you will have to go to a Dr. and go through their program. Then AFTER CARE like NA, very important.
Also change your life style (that was very hard and still is). GOOD LUCK AND KEEP POSTING / YOU CAN DO THIS, WE CAN DO THIS
I am sorry you are going through all this, I know it is very hard. I have a couple questions, just for clairification..Why does your Dr want you off the pills if you are in constant pain? What are you supposed to do about the pain (like what was he wanting you to do in place of the pills)? Lastly, what is your plan to deal with the pain once you are off the pills? I guess I am just wondering if you have a plan of action for when you are off the pills, or are you just dealing with getting off first? The reason I ask is because if you want to be successful, you gotta have a plan on how to deal with the pain. I am really sorry you are going through all of this, do you have any support? You will receive a lot of support here, so keep us posted! Take care..
