By your 12th day you really should be past just about all of the wd symptoms. I would say that your anxiety is probably coming from something other than physical withdrawal symptoms. I think it's more of a mental thing. Sometimes once we're past the physical wd's a mental part sets in where we feel like we really can't relax etc. without the pills.
A lot of people on here suggest excercise as a way to get the endorphins going, change your mood, get your mind off of things and feel more relaxed etc.. Being physically tired from exercise makes you more relaxed and helps with sleep I think.
There are also a lot of suggestions here about vitamins and different foods you can eat to help feel more relaxed.
My anxiety was out of control up until like day twenty coming off of opiates. It was terrible I also to take Xanax. But I would definitely say its the mental withdraws that you are having now. It will subside my anxiety still has times where it acts up but I have always had anxiety. But I am on day thirty three. It gets easier everyday just don't give in. And if you need someone to talk to just let me know. Best of luck
Xanax is the absolute worst medication for chronic anxiety. Please, look into other non-addictive medications for chronic anxiety problems and get off the benzos. Your life will be so much more fulfilling.
Thanx guys.. Hey im on day 14 now but still having the anxiety. Everyday seems to get better tho. Im just nervous of how long i have had the symptoms compared to the amount of dosage i used and how long i took it. I figured it would be done by now. I try to keep busy but i seem to still get the anxiety.. Still chest pains, i almost thought i was catching the flu yesterday lol. My depression is better and my mood is definelty better but its just this damn anxiety. I have never experienced this before. Im not even the depressed type. Should i be worried since my heart has been racing for so long? Thanx for your help guys..
hi hitter i have 44 days clean and i still have a bit of anxiety, i sufftered from it really bad when i reached my tenth day i had the racing heartbeat, shivers, sweats, irratibility and dry mouth, my heartbeat use to beat that fast that i couldnt sleep because i could hear it, it does die down after a few weeks, i went to see a doctor who explained to me exactly what anxiety was and does to the body and gave me tips on breathing exercises which helped with panic attacks, exercise has also helped me, anxiety is basically your brain telling you your under threat then your body produces adreniline to fight off the threat, so if your actually not doing anything then the adreniline has nowhere to go, so exercising can help use up all this adreniline pumping around the body. good luck i know that anxiety can be really debilitaing
Just dnt give in the anxiety will subside and 2 the post above abt the xanax some people have a real medical condition that requires Xanax to treat the chemical imbalance they have. I have been on them quite awhile and to me that is not a addiction it is the thing that balances me out and makes me feel normal. I do not get a high off these neither do I abuse them. Just wanted to put my input in about that. And just hang in there it really does get better I promise
hey dude anxiety was and still is my worst withdrawal symptom when you first come off
it can be debilitating but just know it starts to get better with time...just hang in there
go for a walk if you can it helps anything you can do to distract yourself will help it
I find laying on the couch with my eyes closed and lissin to some music helps a lot to
good luck to you and God bless.....Gnarly
