Example...if you're an addict...you may lapse into habitually using drugs...if you quit and start using again...you have then relapsed. It one of those words that's just kinda hard to describe. I took some pills and lapsed into a state of euphoria...C?

Umm...as someone who's taken courses in English communication...I'd say your friend is wrong. lol! Look up lapse on google or yahoo and you'll find many definitions...but none that come close to what your friend's describing. Sounds kinda strange to me.

Doesn't sound right to me either. Although there is the term " A lapse in judgement" which might fit with what they are saying. Hmmmmm don't have a clue.

You kill me ! LOL I swim to the end of the pool (thats 1 lapse) then I swim back (thats relapse). LOL
someone is telling me that a lapse would be to, for an example, going out of you way to drive by your dealers house, or something like, if your trying to quit smoking, and you go buy a pack of cigarettes, but not smoking them. This doesn't sound right to me, is it?
