Hey there, I can totally understand what you are going through. My hubby was a bad heroin addict for years, he then was clean for years, but he started in percs, then oxy's and whatever we could afford or get our hands on. He went on the Methadone Program, has been on it about a year now and trust me it saved our lives. It is not great, and he is just addicted to something different. But the difference is that it is supervised by a doctors, he will be tapered off by the doctor, we are not on the streets chasing drugs....and that's a high too, a daily event for us for years. Just don't let him quit cold turkey, it's not safe. He is lucky to have you!
Did he just stop the methadone cold turkey?
The Thomas Recipe (do a search) will help ease the withdrawal symptoms, but nothing will stop them. If he can do a taper, that's the best plan.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is nothing you can give him to stop the withdrawal. I would suggest he find a doctor that deals with addiction and go talk to him and maybe ask about a taper off of the methadone instead of just going cold turkey because nothing you can buy over the counter will stop withdrawal.
Good Luck and Godspeed
