I need y'all !~

I need y'all!  I truly do.  Long story short, I broke my neck years ago, have been taking Codeine Contil & tylonel 3's (&lyrica & mobicox, etc) for ~6 years now.  About 2 months ago someone stole my meds from my bedrroom. My Dr wouldn't replace unless I filed a Police Report.  I didn't want to do this because I'm fairly certain it was a friend (HA!) who stole them.  To fill the 10 day gap until I would properly get another month of meds, I bought OxyContins, Codens, Neo's ..whatever the heck they're called.

So started chopping up 80's, 40's whatever...  Lo and behold once I received another month's (legitimate) supply of the meds I've been taking for years (and let me say that I didn't experience withdrawal from these when I ran short from time-to-time for a couple of days) I experienced horrible, horrible withdrawal symptoms from the Oxy's.  And so I've been pulling out my wallet and buying more Oxy's to escape withdrawal. Thousands of dollars later, here I sit, wanting desparetely to end that OXY LIFE !!!~

I live alone and so I've filled the fridge, made sure I have lots of toilet paper, and vodka, chocolate syrup and other essentials, hoping (and praying?) that I've just taken my 3rd last OXY-40. I have 2 more cut in half in case of emergency (Heck, I might have to go get more chocolate in 2 days).

I NEED (underlined and in bold) this lifeline to stay afloat.  Is there anyone listening who may be able to support & coach me?

Post back to us for the next few days, give a little bit more info how you spend your days, do you work?  kinda like to know your age too. That sounds like a big step down, some on here taper, some ct, really depends on health issues.  Can you see a psyciatrist and/or specialist to get meds for some withdraws that are non opiate?

win lose or draw, as you said "last one for the third time"  keep posting, talking to us or someone is extremely helpful.  illiminate the non-script sorce.  Good luck on next three days.

Hello Jim and Welcome to the forum, I too started oxys when I had a severe spinal injury. I was on them for eight years until I wanted to get my life back. It sounds like you want your life back too. So I can only tell you if your want your life back you need to quit the evil oxys and go CT. Drinking vodka and trying to taper is not going to work. So if  want to get off and get clean we are all here for you. I hope you make the decision to go forward and get clean. Good luck in what ever your decision is.---Rick

I drank vodka my first week, somewhere that is floating around, and it went well with oxy till you can look back at what a fool you've been while doing it.
7 days after quitting oxy's something very humbling happened, not touched vodka since and don't recommend it, on the other hand chocolate has not been a problem for me, halloween was a blessing.

Hi Jim, There are alot of good people here who will be more than willing to support you through this. Like Selfinduced said, your story is not unique in as, we have all been there in some way and at some level. I do not think though that you should be replacing one drug for another ie: Vodka because I have heard many people who get clean off opiates that become alcoholics. IMO it may only make matters worse.

That being said, Welcome to the forum and reach out often for support! We are here to help! :)

The first thing I would do is forget about the chockate and vodka, but you have the right idea. Buckle down and prepare for the worst. Its tough, but there are a lot of people on this site going through the same thing. Hell maybe I should try drinking myself to sleep!!!!!

Hey Jim, I am here. Your story is not unique, we all came to these drugs much the same. Are you wanting off or just freaked by lapse in rx? No judgement, just curious. I will tell you, life off pills is amazing....really amazing. I could list many reasons, but bottom line, it is just a complete sense of wellbeing and lost control we get back when we lose the pills. Keep posting, you'll get much support here.
