Hydrocodone Addict Now High Liver Enzymes HELP

I'm 26 years old and have been taking up to 12 10/25 norcos a day for the last 3 years. I suffer from depression and it was the only thing that enabled me to get up and go to work and socialize like other girls my age. I am trying to gradually cut back and I'm down to about 4 a day. I was feeling achy and weak...almost flu like...without the coughing, sore throat. Just severe muscle aches, weekness and slight shortness of breath. I went to Urgent Care because I coudn't stand not having the energy and feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. Well today after a blood test, my liver enzymes are high. Not sure how high because after the nurse read that off my mind just faded to blank. My muscle enzymes are also elevated. Now I'm scared. I took 4 pills already today. They are testing me for Hepatitis and should get those results on Monday. Can I recover from this if I stop now? Could a bad liver from too much APAP really cause me to have Hepatitis? What about my boyfriend? Can he become infected with it all beause I took too many painkillers? I'm scared to death. If anyone knows anything about high liver enzymes due to too much Tylenol please help.

Thank You

Well, are you ready to do something about it?  You could stop. You will feel bad for a few days but people here can give you  help and loads of support to get through it. And really, after a few days you will start to feel better every day. Soon you will no longer say that you hate life. What have you got to lose except a habit that is making you miserable and damaging your health?

you will not get hep from tylonol. its from direct blood contact only (for hep c) nor will you get a or b.i had hep c for 10 years from a tatoo ,i finaly took the treatment and now i am 100% hep c free.the tylonol is affecting your levels, it is one of the worse drugs for your liver.i went through what you are. try and find a better way i know its hard i use to take a lot of tylonl also but was switched to ocycotin way way addictive but easier on the liver im not in any way suggesting you take it.it is one of the worst life altering drugs and like i said verry addictive.hope for the best on your test and if you do have hep c dont panic there is a cure your levels will get better just be verry careful how much you take if you can stop.

You felt bad because you cut back from 12 pills to 4. You were in withdrawal. Tylenol  often does do damage to the liver. In most cases your enzymes will go back to normal a short time after you stop flooding it with Tylenol. If this is indeed the reason for your test results it will not be contagious. But you will have to stop taking pills with Tylenol. You shouldn't drink either. I hope you don't have hepatitis, but whatever the cause you will need to stop hurting your liver. At your age it is probably something you can heal completely from. Good luck.

when they call you back with your test results, you need to be honest with the doctor and let them know what you are taking and how much. They can help you withdraw or set you up on a tapering plan. get some gatorade in you also some aleve for muscle aches, also take lots of hot baths.
