HI and welcome to the forum...to switch from xanex to clonipin they normally ween you down slowly at about .25 a week or 2 weeks depending on how well you do with the taper when the get you down to 2mg they then can start adding clonipine to the mix and finish tapering you off the xanex....xanex has its own brain reseptor and is tricky to switch off of and get on a longer lasting benzo like clonipine also 6mg a day is a large dose so to do this properly it would take up some significant time to do...if she is having seizures get her to an E/R and then once stablised get a new phyic doctor to do a proper transition this is nothing to mess with good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
You, and her should be asking a doctor about this. Get medical assistance from an expert. Be safe. Seizure and xanax withdrawal in the same sentence sound dangerous to me, especially if she's doing this on her own, risking permanent damage to the CNS. Permanent is a serious word. Be careful, don't take chances with stopping/withdrawing/ unsupervised tapering. Seizure is a sign of stopping too fast. Wish you the best of luck.
