I think I will start 2 taper down, I just don't want 2 feel crappy or worse even relapse back 2 opiates! I'm doing counseling once per week also AA. I just don't feel clean & sober while on the sub u know what I mean? Does anyone else feel like that? I feel like I've been cheating.
don't quit C/T, sub is tough to get off of, especially if you are on it long term. If you are only on 16mg - 24mg, you can taper down pretty quick. start moving down by one tablet per week. don't stop taking it until you get down to about 0.5mg, or just crumbs.
I'm in the same boat as you. Been on sub for about 2 years and have become addicted to it. at one point I got myself down to less than 1 mg per day and thought it would be a cake walk to quit from there. Man was I wrong. Sub is a beast roc get off. Right now I have switched back to opiates and the sub is pretty much out of my system. I know what to expect from opiate withdraws and I have a plan. I'm sure that not everyone agrees with this because of how slippery the slope can get, painkillers are what got me in this situation and now I'm going back to them to get off sub. I'm sure that I will need suPport on this so I'm always down to talk.
I would not stay on sub for that long. Trust me. From experience. I've been 15 days off of sub. from 16 mg to zero in no time. But im in so much discomfort and w.d.'s that i can tell you you will regret if you substitute opiates for suboxone. Its like quitting methadone. No fun at all.Good luck and keep in touch. Your friend.
I wouldn't go ct I would do a taper if I was you and yea u are right two years is way to long in my opinion I don't c the point in gettin on sub if u are goin to stay on it because it kinda defeats the whole point but in another point of view if someone did want to stay on it then that is better than getting off and goin back to pain killers which is y some ppl do stay on it is cause they know they are not ready to be off because they think they will relapse
good luck
