Methadone user seeking to be clean with the aid of suboxene

Please HELP! Been on the program for 5 years first years were just a means to keep D.O.C off back. Two years ago started using the program for its purpose. Currently on 60mg. FInnally ready to take final steps to be free from the program.

I need to be able to quit and still function at my labor intensive job. I live in Seattle and would love to hear from someone local that has similar experience. Im 33, male, healthy, smoke, dont drink or do other d. I dont want to be in pain, discomfort, fall off from job cause i cant gather energy. My rough draft plan goes like this start taper to 30mg give myself 1-3 months. take 3 days off for the days of no methadone. start a suboxene program for short term that will help me kick the m with the least amount of discomfort

so Im wondering does that sound good? and where is a good clinic to get suboxene. i have dshs does any clinic take dshs? what mg should i start being on methadone so long. any help would be appreciated.

when i commented earlier i did say there are some on here who have done SHORT TERM
subs. the key is short term. because otherwise you will just continue to trade addictions.
i would really just suggest coming off the methadone and being done with it. my husbands detoxed off of 20mg 16 months ago. he was sick, sick sick for months. he had been on the meth. for 10 yrs. highest dose 100mg. it is hell to come off of. he is in the best shape he has been in 15 yrs. he works out and jogs 4 days a week, eats healthy, his blood pressure is lower, he lost 40 lbs,his sleep apnea gone, and overall extremely healthy now.

Hey There,

I am not local but want to offer some insight.  I was a MMT patient long ago (120mg. for years) and kicked it under rude circumstances.

Given that, I had a brief relapse last summer and decided I would do the right thing and get clean with the wonder drug Suboxone that has little or no WD effects.  This is marketing BS.  It was worse to kick physically and mentally than Metahdone and it took a long time (4+ weeks).  The mind fu## was intense.

So, for whatever it's worth, I would suggest a long term ramp down plan with your current clinic and then non narcotic scrips after to enable sleep, releive muscle pain and enable you to function.

hi and welcome. your name says it all. so glad you have decided to reclaim your life. to long have the chains of addiction had you bound. there are some folks on here who have done a 2 week or 21 day detox on the suboxone hopefully they will respond.
its good your meth dose isnt that high. so start your taper. have you spoke with them yet about wanting to taper? it is slow a few mgs a month.
the moderators starred your email. not suppose to share personal info on here.
have your thought about aftercare to keep you a recovering addict and not an addictive one?

Hi and welcome to MH.  We can't really give you a taper schedule.  None of us are doctors and we don't know your medical history.  You need to talk this over with a doctor- someone who can oversee it and make sure you are doing it a proper and safe way.  Sorry...I know that's not much help, but I don't think anyone here is going to give you a taper schedule.  Good luck to you and God bless!
