You do understand that loritabs and norcos are both opiates not much difference between the two. That 7.5 number is the opiate amount and the same in both your scrips

The mental game is going to be the hardest to deal with. Keep busy, melatonin for sleep, hot baths with Epsom salts for pain and anxiety. Good luck to you.

I have only used loritab 7.5 for four years. My doctor stopped them about one year ago and put me on Norco 7.5. I took 90 a month of loritab and the Norco he only gave me 60 a month. I started buying more to support my habit of six sometimes 8 a day. The reason I am tapering off  so fast is I have ran out and no one has any to sell. I do have 3 Norco left but starting to day I am not taking any. I am going to do with out them. My shoulder surgery was may 28. After my surgery I was sent home the next day and given  Percocet 10 Six times a day for pain for to weeks. That doctor has not prescribed any more. My shoulder hurts but I can tolerate the pain. I have been taking flexarill 10 at night and nuerotin in the day and at night. I have other problems with pain in my body nerve ending damage and neck and back problems.  I was told to go to a pain control clinic in Huntington wv to control my pain. My sister went there now she is on stronger drugs I do not want that. So tired of this merry go round with drugs. I have never used any other type of drugs. I have only used loritab and Norco. Thank you for your support. I will make it threw this day I have strong will power. It is going to be a drug free day.

I just read your original thread. If you were addicted for 5 yrs., the acutes will probably take anywhere from 5 to 10 days. If you want to feel better & get clean, I'd definitely take the plunge & just get through it. I promise that looking back it will seem like the blink of an eye & that you'll be glad that you did it. Your pain level might be high now because you're in acute w/d & your endorphins are under-active. That will change. There's a phenomenon called 'Opioid-induced Hyperalgesia' whereby our pain thresholds are actually lowered as a result of regular use. So, when we stop people are sometimes surprised to discover that the pain isn't half as bad as they remembered or feared it would be. Here's a link on it:

Hi there & Welcome :)

Congratulations on your taper!

To answer your question, you won't really start to feel better until you drop the drug altogether. You sound like you're probably going through most of the symptoms of acute w/d [that's a pretty rapid taper you're on, btw!]  So, since you're already there, why not just drop it altogether? Tomorrow would be day one drug free but as you're already experiencing the symptoms it might actually feel more like day 3.

It's different for everyone but generally from the little that you describe, the acute w/d's should last between 5 to 8 days. Was this your only opiate habit? If so, it really shouldn't be that bad & you have a great chance of healing & moving on.

If you have had previous issues with opiates or other drugs, could you describe them a little? Has your shoulder fully healed? Why are you coming off the Norcos so quickly? (If you're in a lot of pain could do this under a Dr's supervision).

Please, let us know what you think & how you're doing.

We're here & we're pulling for you!
