UPDATE. Haven't been here for a while

Hi everyone, I haven't been one here for a few week's since i got clean at i think 24 weeks pregnant??.  Im still clean from heroin and niw 29 week's pregnant. I just got my results back from my ultrasound and my son is healthy:) My OB also knows that a weaned off it and she wasn't mad. She's just happy I quit. I feel healthy also and feel very proud that I quit with NO help for the FIRST time!

My question is: Will my son go thru any withdraws since I quit very late in my pregnancy??? I heard that since I quit late in my pregnancy my baby still has heroin in their system because it has no where to go. Is that true?? I don't want CPS to take my baby away after I worked so hard to quit.

Congrats on your clean time.  I am so happy for you and I am sure as long as your doctor knows, that you will be fine.
It must be such a relief for you to be off of heroin.
Now is the time to relax and enjoy every minute of your pregnancy.
Sonrissa is right.  Just listen to your doctor and not to others who really don't know.  I don't know where they come up with some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths lol.
Your doctor is the best one to ask.
You did a wonderful thing for both your baby and for yourself.  Now enjoy it.

Congrats on getting clean! You need to talk with your Dr, and the pediatrician you choose about whether the baby may be addicted. They know best.
Working in the hospital, I have seen them keep mothers on meds, and treat the baby for addiction when born. Maybe you stopped early enough.

As far as CPS, not sure about your state, but here, as long as the mom is working with her Dr during the pregnancy, it's all good.

Hi Cruz! Huge congrats on getting clean! You said that you OB knows that you weaned off, right? Well, I would ask her about the potential of withdrawals for the baby. Your Dr would be your best source of information! Talk to her about your concerns! Take care! I wish you all the best!

HI Cruz and welcome back!  Remind me, are you on Methadone or Subs??  As far as the Baby having Heroin in its system, no. Once the Heroin is cleared out of your system your baby will no have any issues with Heroin in Their system.

I dont know you but I am proud of you for taking care of this baby inside you. It takes alot of courage to admit using while pregnant. That in itself says alot about the person you are, and what kind of mother you want to be. I am a LPN about Im not to familiar with OB.
