Is Tramadol bad or not for easing opiate withdrawlals?

The first time I stopped taking Loratab, I had WD, I also had pain. Someone had given me a half bottle of tramadol and said "you can take this for pain, it won't get you high though". I was in a lot of pain so I took 2 50mg. The pain went away, but so did the WD's from the Loratab.I took 2 of the50 mg twice a day. Four days later, I didn't have the pain anymore (it was from a nearly broken jaw), and I didn't have WD's either. I didn't take anymore of the Tramadol, I never felt high off of it, but I hear it's a terrible med to use to stop opiate WD's. What is the truth about Tramadol?

Yeah, tramadol is the sneakiest of all opiates.  They wrap it up as "non-addictive" "non-narcotic" "non-habit forming".  All lies.  It was by far the WORST withdrawal I ever went through.  It's the anti-depressant they snuck in there that made the withdrawal a very unique and horrible experience.  And I never knew there was one in there as no Dr. ever told me that.

Good to hear you didn't take them all - and dominosarah's right - flush whatever ya got left.  They're poison and the further away they are from you, the better you'll be.

Good luck to you!

Tramadol is addicting, dangerous and evil.  Flush the remaining ones if you have them.

Use it long enough and it will give you a set of wd's that make's regular opiate wd look and feel like a walk in the park..

Thats my understanding of Tramadol....
