Thank you I will keep you updated.
Random medical knoweledge FYI...that's called "skin tenting", which is a simple test of the skin turgor to determine hydration.
:0)
It stays wrinkled for a few seconds?? .
Yep. If your skin turgor is already affected, you're extremely dehydrated. Update us as soon as you can, okay? I replied to your PM.
Thanks everyone for all the information and support. I will keep everyone updated
It stays wrinkled for a few seconds??
Check your PM...sent you one.
nursegirl6572 is totally right...get to the E.R.
I've been taking generic Immodium AD tablets and they have helped a lot. Please listen to the forum members and hydrate; you can really get hurt.
Like WODAgirl said, ginger is good. Also EvolverU mentioned binding foods. Mom calls it the BRAT diet. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. Those foods bind. Don't forget chicken noodle. Like, eat as if you have the flu.
Don't go it alone. Go to the ER if you gotta and just tell them what's up. They'll put you on an IV and help you out.
Ginger has helped me a LOT
Whatever is going on is severe enough to cause near fainting, so that definitely is something that needs addressed, and something that probably will require some medical intervention, more than what you should be safely doing at home hon.
If you're having that much diarrhea and not peeing too much, you're probably horribly dehydrated. If you pinch a piece of skin (on your hand) ...like pull it up, for a few seconds, does the skin bounce right back, or is it kind of wrinkly and slow to bounce back? If it's slow to bounce back, that's a big sign you're severely dehydrated.
To the ER misy! Don't bother with your doc or a urgent care center, because if you need IVs, they're going to send you to the hospital anyway.
Thinking of you!
Please get to the doctor. You need bloodwork to determine if you're dehydrated, or possibly have a low blood count. Sounds to me like you could have a low blood count (anemia). Please go get checked, because whatever is going on needs addressed. Don't drive yourself either.
Let us know as soon as you can okay? Fingers crossed!
Like I think I told you last night fresh ginger squeezed through a garlic press into a mug of hot water is pretty potent. Failing that, Gingerale as atthebeach, suggests. Eat something bland and binding.
Yes I have some Gatorade. I'm trying hard to hang in there I know I will turn the corner soon. Is there anything else I can take to calm my stomach?
no fainting isn't normal. hydrate, hydrate you are loosing your electrolytes and they need to be replenished. Gatorade small sips. are you urinating?
it is important to eat and drink. you will wind up in the hospital hooked to iv tubes to treat dehydration. small sips every 10 minutes. suck on ice chips if necessary. drink ginger ale, small sips.
Hope you MUST hydrate. You've got to force yourself. Do you have any Gatorade around for electrolytes? Try some toast, rice, oatmeal - stuff like that. Some sugar and some salt.
Heavy diarrhea. I haven't been eating much at all. I try to drink but that upsets my stomach worse. It's a vicious cycle :(
Hi Hope..I agree with EvolverU but I would also call the Sub Doctor and let them know..meanwhile..Do the things that she suggested above..OK..Are You eating????
If you have any Gatorade or Electrolyte mix in the house, please drink it. Are you hydrating properly? (2 to 3 litres of water per day.) Is there anyone you can call to sit w/ you?
Hope have you been vomiting a lot or heavy diarrhea?
