Is it still withdrawal or something else

I am on 11 days of no loperamide. I was told by then doc,yo,go,up,to 20mg of lexapro and all it did was make my head hurt more. I dropped back, down to 10 after 9 days. My anxiety was bad then and worse now. I don't know if it is because of going up,then down, or is it still withdrawal? I abused for a while, then went to loperamide for about a year going as high as 50 day, but went to 20 a day.  Weird thing is I drank a bunch of energy drinks and quit that is when i started to feel bad. That was almost a month ago. Did the energy drinks make the loperamide stronger while I did them for 2 weeks??  I haven't drank any in a while. Did my lexapro quit? Someone please help me. If it is withdrawal I can ride it out and hopefully get better, I have a headache that feels like a band around my head. Racing thoughts, sweaty, pulse is higher than normal. Does anyone have experience with loperamide. I am also only getting 3 maybe 4 hours total sleep. Will someone please give a peace of mind.... I also switched to a generic in the mean time. All,these racing thoughts, plus I,have go,to back,to,work and try to sale.....please help. I,have never had withdrawals like this. The doctors say you can't wds off, loperamide

I am also on Lexapro and I started taking it at night and noticed a bid difference! I also take 2 a day. I think Never is right on track with the headaches and lack of caff it will cause nasty headaches as your body is now detoxing from the caff....

I can't drink much caffeine without feeling like my heart will explode and my head pounds afterwards.
I messed up the other night and took some B/C powders with caffeine and felt like I was back on day 3 and 4

Chad:  the symptoms started after you "stopped the drinks."   You mean the energy drinks, right?   Hmmm.   If you were drinking a lot of caffeine for a while, then THAT is where the headaches might be coming from.

I'm a coffee drinker.  I know everyone says I should switch to tea, and I do LOVE tea, but in the morning, nothing is as good as that first cup of java.  About six months ago, I was dx'ed with mild high blood pressure...I stopped drinking the coffee and had the most wicked headaches for weeks afterwards.

Now I have one (maybe 2) cups of half-caff coffee in the morning.

I'll bet these symptoms get better slowly, but keep track.   Drink a lot of water to help your body flush out toxins...are you getting any exercise?

Hugs,
-Robin

Chad:  TAKE A DEEP BREATH.

No one is going to be able to figure out exactly what is going on.   Your doctor is WRONG about withdrawing from loperamide.  Doctors can be unbelievably stupid about drugs, and especially about drug dependency.

Now...I'm not a doctor, but I did used to be a pharmacist.  Tell me:  When did you start the lexapro?  Did the headache start when you started taking it?  And then got worse when you upped the dose?

Bad headaches are a common side effect of SSRI anti-depressants.  My father tried Zoloft and got an intense headache that lasted 2 weeks AFTER he stopped.

Lexapro and Loperamide (Immodium) are generally safe to take together.  But you are in withdrawals from a large amount of the immodium.  Does the doctor who prescribed the lexapro KNOW how much immodium you were taking, and how intense the withdrawals have been?

You report you are having racing thoughts, increased pulse and sweating.  I doubt this is from the immodium if these symptoms popped up all of a suddent, or especially if they happened right after you increase the lexapro...but I'm NOT a doctor.  I think you should call your physician and report these symptoms.

Honey, you are concerned that these symptoms are bad enough to prevent you from doing your job:  That DEFINITELY warrants a call from the doctor.

I doubt the energy drinks you had a month ago are doing anything now (just my 2 cents here, but stay away from energy drinks. Bad for your body.)

Hang in there, honey.  You're doing really well at day 11.   I think you will turn a corner VERY soon, but I also think you need to call your doctor (or go to  walk-in clinic) and tell them about these new symptoms.

Don't be embarrassed or ashamed...this is your body, health and quality of life we are talking about.

Let me know what happens, 'cause i care.

Hugs,
-Robin
