just hang on....it DOES get better!  stay close to this site.....it is a great source for info and the people on here helped me so much when i was alone for the first couple of weeks.....just rest when you can...drink lots of water or gatorade.....drink Boost, Ensure or Carnation instant breakfast when you can't eat.....eat protein when you can...hot baths with epsom salt helped me alot too....very relaxing and helps with muscle and body aches....i was taking 2-3 a day for first couple of weeks....I agree about the Ativan.....only take it when you HAVE to.....i've heard it's really hard to detox from....

keep posting and asking questions and for help when you need it....we are here for you and want you to succeed!  you can do it!!

The benzo will help take the edge off but be advised that can become a demon in itself. And everybody says "I know but I'll stop taking it when the opiate kick is over" and then they continue to struggle with that. As long as you are taking it during the worst of your wd's then promptly discontinuing it then you should be fine. I wish the best for you, I know every single second feels like a week and it feels like this will last forever. But not too far in the future you will be able to look back and go "f that I'm never going back" and be sooo greatful that it's over with. Once it's over it's easy to forget how hard it was or how long it felt.

Well you are quitting bubbles and that is the important thing. This is not easy  nor fun. Yet a learning experience and a journey into your soul. Life is beautiful on the other side. I will be seven months clean on 12-23 and i wouldnt trade this for anything!! Just stay strong and dont look back> You will have bad days, depression, anxiety but it is all temporary. Time will be the most important healer but working out, running, vitamins. healthy habits. hobbies.... are all important aids. It does get better trust me, just dont give up even if you feel so down and out. Reach out to someone. We are all here for you.... Lets have a sober Christmas !! Sunny

It ***** I know but it's temporary in the scheme of a lifetime. I was an IV heroin user for 10 years (I'm 24 now) and had to detox in a hospital. I was put on ativan (the only benzo) for anxiety, methocarbinol for muscle spasms, clonidine for sleep, and immodium. Keep your mind busy, read do puzzles, walk, anything! And the most helpful thing you can do for yourself is ASK FOR HELP. We're all here to help and you can always call the AA hotline and they'll hook you up with someone to talk to face to face. I just came back to this site today. When I was on here last year I was on dope, today I am 8 1/2 months clean and sober from everything. I want to come back to this site to give back to those in need. Any specific questions, just ask me :)

You have got to surrender yourself to the process.   Part of the process isn't just physical, but emotional too.   Your brain has had a sudden drop in the feel good chemicals you were feeding it.    Find something to do that takes your thoughts of how you feel physically and emotionally.   Music, comedy, this site, whatever it takes.

Hang In there. I posted on your other post about the pain its mostly rebound pain and its part of withdrawal and it will get better. Try and go get a good multivitamin, vitamin b6 and b12 for the fatigue, valerian root will help with anxiety and meletonin to help with sleep at night also the meletonin and valerian root together help with sleep to also some magnesium and potassium for restless legs and of course Imodium for your stomach. As soon as you can get up and go for a walk or some light excersises or whatever you can do and that will help alot and speed this process up because exercise get your " feel good hormones" going again without the narcotic

Good Luck and Godspeed
