How long should one take immodoum to help with hydrocodone withdrawal symptoms?

I've been reading about this method for several weeks and decided it was time to give it a shot.  I've been taking anywhere from 6-10 Norco 7.5 (I am  prescribed to only take 3) everyday for about 2 years.  I have tried to come off of these pills several times in the past and could NOT handle the WD's.  The RLS and lack of sleep being the worst for me.  Last week I ran out and had no money to buy more.  I found that I had some immodium here so I took it. It was about 9 of the 2mg and it seemed to help tremendously for that day.  However, the next day I landed a kidney stone and had no choice but to take my pain killers again.

Anyways, here I am. The start of a new week and a new me.  I have to stop this madness.  So yesterday I loaded up on tagmet  and immodium and got myself hyped up about stopping. I want to do this
I have to!!!

So this morning I got up at 8am and loaded up on 12 immodoum tabs (24mg) and 2 tagmet (200mg).  I honestly do feel soooo much better than times in the past when I had nothing and the WD's were hell on earth, but I still have a little ache in my legs. Nothing compared to the past. And I don't have much energy.  Nevertheless, I'm NOT taking any norco for any reason!!

I'm wondering if others have had success using this method or could recommend a dosing schedule for me to use? And how should I taper off the lope? Sorry for rambling. The pills have somewhat ruined my train of thought as well. Thanks for any input or advise!!

YAHOO!!! Your on the right track.
I know when I came clean from my cocktail of drugs, I did not have much of a bathroom issue this time. This was back in 2012. I just let it rip when it did. ha! Figured I was getting rid of the toxins. They come out from the skin, nose, bathroom and other areas. Make sure you do stay Hydrated. Good Job!!

Thank you all for the support. While taking opiates I always seemed constipated anyways so that's why I wasn't concerned. I don't intend to take anymore immodium at least until my bowels move. I am determined this time. My husband is very supportive and believe it or not so is my mother so I have a huge support network. Yes, I've deleted numbers of all my "people" and intend to keep it that way! Again, thanks for the support

I agree with vicki.
The w/ds will be over soon, it is setting yourself up with some aftercare. There is so much to our Addiction, and we can not stay clean without Support. Make sure you stay away from where you were buying them from. Delete there number and tell them NO. This is going to be a BIG TRIGGER for you to go back if you do not change your Playmates and Playground!!!

Very Proud of your success so far. Keep on going down the straight and narrow path, and not alone either.

Oh my goodness. 12 immodium at one time? That's sounds scary. I used imodium through my withdrawls as well, but I didn't need anymore than 4 in a day. You took 12 at one time or over a period of the day to help your tummy? If you're not able to go to the bathroom soon with out otc help and start having bad pains I'd go to ER.

Hi there- That's a lot of Imodium so be careful. You don't want to end up with a bowel obstruction!

Try some magnesium for the restless legs. There's a product called Hyland's Restful Legs that works well, also.  Drink plenty of fluids and move around as much as you can.  The wd's don't last very long and it's really the easy part. Staying clean is hard work so seek out some support. Best of luck-
