I messed up

The past 10 yrs i've been taking norco well honestly any opiate pill i could get a hold of. 4 months ago Doc put me on methadone 2 10mg a day then suddenly just dropped me at the end of march the 28th to be exact.  I found another doc to give me 10/10mg to try and taper with which i did.  I never took more than a half of one which puts it at 5mg a day. Last thurs was my last 5mg and i felt alright the next couple days.  Now of course my dumb a** went to store ran into an old supplier and got 2 750 vics and of course gobbled them before i even thought about it.  My question is did i just screw myself and have to start all over.

thank you very much its very helpful to know I am not alone.  My signifagant other isn't very understanding about this or really anything really, he is rotten and says very mean things a lot.  Can't understand why I can't just walk away and be ok tomorrow.

No, you didn't take enough to start over.  I doubt the 15mg of vics did very much for you. Methadone detox hit me full force at about 7 days, so just remember that, when you are still feeling yucky. It will pass and you will feel better than you have in years, it just takes some time. Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and exercise are the best things you can do now. Tell all you connections that you're done. Tell anyone you can trust to help you keep an eye on you. VIC is so right, get all the support you can get. Keep recovery in the front of you mind. My counselor suggested I build a recovery section in my library. When I feel weak, foggy, or simply don't know what to do, I grab a book and read about relapse prevention or general addiction info. Changing some of my habits, even ones not directly connected to my addiction, seems to help. I even brushed my teeth with my other hand, slept on the other side of the bed, and various little things, just to keep me off auto pilot. Auto pilot leads me back to where I started. Don't beat yourself up, but make some changes to help you from doing that again and again. You're on your way, you have a wonderful life ahead of you no matter how you may feel, never forget that.

This is just part of our Disease..I came c/t from a high does of methadone plus 2 other meds..You did good by cutting it down..I am very proud of you..Now I would suggest you get into some aftercare..Get to some support groups..I go to AA/NA Both..Even if I have not drank in over 8 years the beast can open with a blink of a eye..This Journey was not meant to be walked alone..So try to get some Support so you can learn the tools to help when you have these Triggers..Just keep truckin forward and do not look back!!! It is a fight...You will be fine...
Bless.
