1 year today!!!!!

A big thank you to all of you, I've made it a year!!! Except for a few after my surgery, I go to see my cardio dr. tomorrow, Hopefully he will take me off of Xarelto. I just want to tell all the newbies it can be done!! How could it not work with all the support we get here. It's like having your own angels holding your hand walking you through it. So again, a big thank you!!

Never Again, thank you for the kind words and yes it has changed how I look at myself and others. I now know my opinions and feelings are valid and others are not God. I can now look at others as human with human needs that I might fill. I don't have to try to save the world and try to earn my place on earth by being perfect. Sometimes a soft shoulder is better than the right answer.  I have more feelings and time for others now that I'm not chasing more pills or worried about running out.  What a relief!!! My marriage is better and my face has more color, not the ashen gray. As for as friends, I found out who really was my friend and it was not who I thought they were. You will realize the people on this form are REAL and that's what I want in a friend. And last but not least, whether you have a week or a year you should be proud of yourself and love yourself because you count.  Look at this time as preparing  you for something greater.  God Bless you

That is fan-tas-tic!!!!  You are incredible!! I read statistics that say that less than 5% of people with opiate dependency will stay clean 1 year.  Imagine that....you're in that top five percent!!

I'm very impressed, and I want to know something:  How did getting and staying clean this long change your life?  Did it change how you felt about your job?  Your marriage? (if you are married)...your friendships?  Your body image?  

I hope you write back..I"m all ears...
