Just got out of rehab

I have been out for a while because of an overdose and subsequent 6 week stay in rehab.  I am glad to be out and starting the road to recovery.  The stay in rehab really did me good.  I feel like a new person.

Hi David, I'm new here and I don't know a lot about recovery as I'm new to it myself. Just wanted to send you some good vibes and wish you the best.

Thanks for the vote of support.  Rehab is not for everyone but it saved my life.  I have reached the bottom and there is nowhere to go but up.  I can never do drugs or drink again.  I don't want to find out if I can start over again.  I have a great NA sponser and I will stay in contact with him.

Hi David, I'm fairly new here so you don't know me, but it's always great meeting different people.  I'm so glad you have come so far.  It's a really long journey from using to getting where you are now and you deserve a huge pat on the back.  So glad you came back, stick with us!!!

Make that commitment to stay connected here. It is vital to your recovery. Are you also in NA or AA? Aftercare is also so important. It takes months for our bodies to reset themselves. Good habits and patterns need to be maintained for a long time for them to stick.
Welcome back.

Ya, I'm going NA.  I've been going for a while even before I od'd but I did not surrender and still belived that I could use successfully.  Man was I wrong.  Now I am fully detoxed and feeling great.  It will be tough but this time I am willing to do whatever it takes to stay clean from all drugs and alcohol.
