thank you all for you encouragement it means a lot .since i am still using its hard to hear the success stories but they are great. talking to my lady this morning I realized that since 94 i have not even tried to stop using .the Docs say its OK to be using .since i have so many medical problems .the kidney doc took me off time release. sed the time release is plugging the filters . so now on dilaudin. instant .Doc ses keep going slow so not to go into convulsions .how low  do you think a guy has to go before stopping ? i am down to 2mg every 5 hrs. what can i do for restless leg. not allowed quinine bad kidneys.
could stopping doxipine be causing some of the wd .havent taken any in a month now.used fro RLS

What I was saying is taking potassium mag and zinc could be dangerious if you have kidney issues, not the pain med part the vitamin part, you may need to ask the dr before taking those suppliments.

thank you so much .i will keep up.  your support is appreciated. Kidney  doc doesnt seem to care if addicted. She does not like people to suffer with pain

With kidney problems the rls will be hard because you need potassium mag and zinc, so i would get advice from the doctor
Just know that all things are possible and you can do this each person is different from where they jump at, I only took dilaudid a few times so wont be much help there but if you need someone to talk to I am here

So, your taking about 8-10mgs a day if I read it right. Many quit at higher doses. What is your doc saying is the dose to stop? Dilaudid is a strong one and fast acting. The symptoms will hit fast, that is part of why a taper is so hard. It is water soluable, so your body should eliminate it quickly, then it takes time for healing.
