Imodium also helps with most withdrawl symptoms. I was very surprised how much it helped. Staying hydrated is key. I had trouble keeping anything down and wound up dehydrated and needing IV fluids in rhe ER. I wasn't prepared. Gatorade, water, juice are great. If you start having trouble with keeping anything down, try popsicles, ice cubes or ice chips. You should be past the worst of it by the time you have to go back to work but probably not a hundred percent.
You should definitely be able to function enough to work by day 5. My physical symptoms usually peak around day 3-4...then start getting better after that. Make sure to take a quality multivitamin...and even supplement with emergen-c twice a day. Melatonin really helps for sleeping...and usually I don't have much of an appetite, but sipping on Gatorade does me some good! Definitely use the Imodium for the bathroom issues. I used to think it would be better to let it run it's course. But it doesn't work that way....you don't have to suffer...use the Imodium! LOL! You'll be fine! :) I listened to a lot of music during my detox time...that might help you too! :)
Hey no problem ... I knew that would spook you as that would spook me as well! Always look at people's prior posts and time spent on forum. Although I'm sure her intentions were well, I think she just miss spoke.
I'm currently on a taper plan . I don't have acess to my pills taper works for very few people but has worked for me because I have a great support system . I wish you the best and will be following your progress , please keep us all posted
Sometimes people want to help but are sadly misinformed. That was her first post ever and we've never seen her before. If you click on the name or pic you can visit the profile and find out how much clean time they have! Take a deep breath. You got this and we are here for you.
No, no, You don't need the ER.. Your on an average dose ..Its not an unusually high dose by any means! You will be okay. Don't get freaked out and just take each symptom as it comes. It's comparable to the flu.. You've had the flu before right?? You are going to be fine and we are all here to walk ya through it! :)
So sorry, somehow I jumped from another thread where someobe was taking between 18-20 daily You shoukd and will be fine, again my apologies to you.
No honey you don't need go to the ER. You can do this at home. Just get through the first day, one moment at a time if necessary. We wouldn't steer you wrong!
I was taking 10mgs msdelight. thanks guys once again I know it wont be easy but fentagirl kinda really spoked me there.
I think I'll be able to beat it I know it wont be a cake walk. But fentagirl suggest the ER? I don't think I'll have to do that????
Unless you have cardiac /respiratory or serious medical issues going cold turkey not dangerous. And you are taking an average size dose, especially if they were 5/325. I cold turked off 12 10/325 percocets daily and have lived to tell the tale. Tapering will only prolong your misery . Good luck and you will be able to work IMO. Do you have any medical problems?
I have never heard of any risks going CT if pain pills? Benzos yes but I'm just curious as to where you got your information? Being that this is your first post and response in this forum.
Congratulations on your decision and welcome! Rosy gave you awesome advice, and yes we will be here for you. Glad you have until Thursday to do it. I went back to work on day 3 and though it wasn't pleasant it was certainly doable. It gets better and better. Attitude is everything! Feel free to ask questions or vent as needed. We are all in this together.
You should get some medical advice, even at the E.R., its a serious thing withdrawing and the dose you're taking is pretty large. In a simple way, no I don't think you will be detoxed and able to work without symptoms, and in any real way be ready to work. Titrating you down is the only way to detox from these drugs. No physician would EVER prescribe the amount you have become accustomed to, which I am sure you already know. All I can reccomend is to be completely honest with a physician and safely get off of these meds and keep your job, it won't be comfortable, but just remember this, by using ( abusing) meds you have so masked any feelings and now you will have to find another coping mechanism to deal with pain, and everyday life. I hope the best for you, I suggest vitamin D, and perhaps the Dr. Could prescribe a non narcotic to help you through this difficult time. There is a real risk going cold turkey on these meds, do you have a support system that allows you to have someone who can watch and make sure you are not having seizures or in a bad way. All the best to you please be careful.
CONGRATS and WELCOME to the forum...
You probably won't be feeling 100% in 5 days but the worst should be over.
It's like the flu.. Just take each symptom as it comes and a positive outlook will help you alot.
Stay hydrated.. LOTS OF FLUIDS
Imodium for the bathroom issues
Epsom baths are wonderful
music to keep your mind of things..or tv or any hobby that will distract you from thinking about pills and wd's. Although the physical part is no fun the mental part is the kicker..
HYLANDS for restless leg
MELATONIN , VALERIAN ROOT, ALTERIL for sleep
Those are some of the things that worked for me. Stick close to the forum We are here to walk through it with you!
