Roxi help!

I have been on and off roxies for about a year now and everytime i try to quit cold turkey i find myself making excuses to take them. Also I know these pills are used for chronic pain and since i have been trying to quit i noticed that i am starting to get horrible lower back and leg pains. I am in a horrible positon because i live south florida and in south florida drugs are easier to get than alcohol when your under 21. Me and many many other friends i have watched try and quit this horrible blue pill but it never works. If anyone can offer any suggestions to my situation i am all ears.

Take the money you are gonna spend on the pills & see the doctor. I actually take clonidine  for my blood pressure , so i already had the stuff & it really helps . Im on day 5 i think im just not counting , as im done counting pills & days  so  someday last week is when i restarted my life without opiates.  Actually i feel great  for not having any pills in 5 days . I done a taper , i started out cutting my dose by half  for 1 week (7days) then cut it half again for 7 days then half again & now im off & havent had to bad of w/d im sure quite sure it would have been worse if i didnt have the clonidine .

Good luck to you stay strong when you do the taper & you will get thru it trust me its wayyyyy better to be off the drugs that to be on them

W/D is awful, but you live through it. The bad physical part lasts 5-7 days. Week 2 is better but not great. You can ask your Dr for clonidine. It helps some to get through the w/d.

I also had the same problem.  After some time passes from the w/d you start feeling good and confident that you can control your intake.  I finally decided that I can not control the use and got rid of all the pills and will suck it up as the pain comes.  I just think it is better to have a few bad days with pain than a unmanageable life with pills.

Welcome to the forum. When you really want it bad enough. You will find a way to quit. I encourage you do dig down and find that strength. It is doable.

Hi there,

Can I ask how many a day are you taking?

When you say on & off, how long does the "off" last for?

Body pain is a part of the turmoil your body goes through when detoxing.  There's also the running to the bathroom, usually no appetite, no sleep, extreme anxiety, restless legs, chills and much more.

There are several vitamins, aminos, and mood medications that can help you.

What is making you want to stop?  That is usually the key reason to keep your sanity through all of this.

Best Wishes.

Hi,

Maybe instead of going cold turkey, you can taper your dose slowly. It lessens the withdrawals. You also sound like you could use counseling either AA or NA. Taking vitamins and exercising while you taper helps but if you can get it really easy you have to really want to stop. Are you ready? That means stacutting yourself off from anyone and anywhere that you could get drugs.

I wish you well. You're young and you can do this.
