METHADONE

My 27 year old son has asked me to help him detox off of methadone at home.  I am scared to death for him.... Last month he ran out of pills all together and it almost killed him.  I need advise as to what all to feed him how much do I taper him off safely with.  He only has like 20 pills left and is use to taking 4 to 5 a day to just function.  Please help me help him!  we are going to start doing this as soon as i hear back from you...... is there special vitimins and so on that will help him?????
His wife is also addicted but I dont know the extent of it... but they have a new born baby 2 months old and a 3 year old daughter who is also going to come to my house so i am going to have my hands full!  I have read some of your posts and see that there are many survivers that are true heros in my eyes!  Thanks for being here.  My son just called and said he feels like he is dying...... please help us....

Hey Thanks so much I will do that right now.  Get this started for him.  Is there any dangers I should know about that would be fatal. I hear it can be and last time he ran out he was horrid!  Whitish grey color and purple under the eyes and around the mouth, he was burning up but freezing and goose bumps all over, and tremors and all of that... is there anything i can do to help ease those intense feelings for him?  what do i do when he says he feels like he is going to die???? he does not want to go to a hospital cause he of his kids and we live in such a small town..... i appreciate you all being here for us!

Thanks so much for the reply I have to say I am totally scared to death for him.  I am a survivor of methamphetimines and have been clean now for 7 years. but this methadone is way different.  I think this forum is intense and amazing so thanks again for your reply and you prayers...

hi and welcome to the forum.  i dont know anything about methodone, but i pm'd feohmoon she is our expert lol.  she should give you some advice soon.  you are a great mom to take this on with your son..i will be praying for you.  please keep posting you get great support as well as advice

Look up the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acids for help as far as Vitamins, etc.....there are many here who will give great advice.
