Medical record privacy

My medical recs wrongly show I've abused opiates in the past, even though I made the choice TWICE to get myself off of them (once hydrocodone, once oxycontin). My dr overprescribed these to me at one point, and now she has gone to the opposite extreme and has even called my pharmacy saying I can't pick MY HUSBAND'S medications if they are opiates.  How do I find a dr who will prescribe me something like vicodin, even with my past record?  I have chronic pain that causes constant pain, and living without any painkillers is frustrating.

I would try talking to your doctor or going to pain management. There may be something else you can take or a procedure done for the pain. I wish you the best!!

HI Jen....I always read the profiles of our new members...congrats on getting 9mo clean
and congrats to your new start being a week clean....I wish I could advise you on how to get more meds but when someone tells me there an addict and wants to know how to get more
A red flag goes up.......we have a lot of members here who live with chronic pain im one of them...but like many of the other members here once you find yourself addicted it never just goes away....narcotics can no longer be an option for pain control we cant control our intake
for any amount of time...addiction is progressive and it will only get worst if left untreated
we can show you ways to stay clean and sober...going it alone often ends with going back
and many of us go back for legitimate reasons (pain) but rarely can the addict take narcotics responsibley no mater how good the attentions are...stick around and read some of the posts I think you will fit right in you deserve a life free from narcotics where here to help you achieve it...good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

We are addicts here, mainly we are urging others to not use vicodin or other painkillers. We want to live clean and sober lives and not live depending on narcotic painkillers to make it through a day. There are some great medicines out there that are non-narcotic to help you with your pain. The pills that you are wanting are very addictive and can take over your life in a very short time. If I were you I would be seeking out something that would control my pain and not make me into someone who has to live in a fogged up world. I started taking vicodin for legit pain and now 8yrs late I am fighting everyday to clean and sober. Painkiller are not worth it and will just destroy your life.
