Methadone! Possible side effect question! Please help!

Currently at 60mg going down from 100mg. Been on methadone for about a year and a half. Started going down in July of 2016. It is now almost February of 2017. My question is... anybody know Methadone ever get and feel extremely hot probably 50 to 60% of the time? Even when it is cold and everyone else around you is cold but you still feel hot? My fiance is on and going down methadone too but he does not have the always feeling over heated side effect. I am female but idk I that has anything to do with it. Some nights even it being winter (in Texas but still cold in the low 40s at night) I will have you have the window open and only a sheet over me. And my fiance kind of has to deal with it. And then almost always if I am out at a store or something I will start sweating. It's extremly embarrassing. And I have tried dressing in tanks and try to get air flow thru to me but I still sweat. It is driving me insane! And then my fiance feels my body and says it feels normal. Or cold. And I do not have fevers ever unless of course I am sick. Does anyone else have this problem on methadone? Or have any idea what it could be? I have had this issue ever since we got on. We don't really remember it ever happening when we were on heroin. Been sober from heroin 17 months tomorrow!

Hello and welcome. Yes some people do sweat and it can be profusely. Sweating can be. Very unpleasant side effect of methadone.

Constipation and Sweating

Constipation and sweating are two of the most commonly experienced side effects of methadone maintenance treatment. Methadone users can reduce the severity of constipation by eating a high-fiber diet, getting regular exercise, and making a concerted effort to avoid dehydration. Those who experience excessive sweating while on methadone seem to sweat heavily regardless of the dose taken, and do not develop a tolerance to the effect.

I apologize if there are some mistakes in my sentences. I am on my phone and for some reason lately I have been having trouble getting my sentences to make sense. If you need me to rewrite or rephrase let me know. It has been not fun and I really would like some answers. I have talked to the doctor and they didnt really know. It wasn't my methadone doctor though, since he never saw his patients. And now I am at a new clinic and need to get in to ask him about it too.
