I know people cant stop until they are ready….but I am going to make it a personal goal to be there for all my friends in my life that are where I am/was………I will not lose another friend to these damn drugs….i will not lose myself to these damn pills…..i have so many people in my life that are breaking my heart….now I know what I was doing to other people…..i cant stand by and watch my childhood friends kill themselves I just cant…you can say people cant change unless they want to…but im not excepting that……I will lock every one of my friends in a room for a week if that’s what it takes….i cant stay quit and watch my friends kill themselves any longer….i was part of that life….and I realized that’s not life at all...maybe im fighting a losing battle….but I thought that when I woke up Tuesday morning……and you know what here I am Thursday and still going……will I relapse maybe……but your not judged in life by how many times you fall you are judged by how you get up and react to the fall…..maybe if they see that I did it they will know they can do it……after all I was ALWAYS  john the drugie…..need something call john he can get everything…so If I can do it anybody can

Hang in there Jay, I specifically came looking for this post to check on you...I skipped a few doses this weekend, just to get the full cold turkey feel and it is no joke....not sure how I am going to beat it, but following people like yourself helps a lot.

Great moves, man.....I completely agree with the need to surround yourself with every possible resource..we have to fight with the same vigor we used on the dark side to score pills and maintain the life of an addict.   Keep it moving.

I'll tell ya...support makes all the difference in the world.   I doubt you'd feel this way if you'd been alone.   So much of this is about having your head in the right place and
being willing to give the crap up!!!

im doing great on day 4 finaly feeling bettter physicaly...mentaly i feel great

i told my mom and brothers......i didnt want my dad to know yet....but against my wishes my mom told him....i cant believe how supportive they are of me....they are all so understanding.....and relived that they now know what was bothering me for so long.

my bottom dollar gal hooked me up with one of her long time friends he is a recovering addict clean for two years.....he truley is awesome he is taking me to a meeting with him tomorrow......looking foward to a life change.....cant wait to go on a nice long hike with a clear and sober mind...cant wait to sit on a tropical island and enjoy the natrual beauty with out a being in a brain fog.

I like the advice from IBKleen (the nickname is not bad either, smile)....the best example is set with action in a quiet and effective manner.  I absolutely admire your attitude though, I truly believe it starts with our mental state.  I am on the verge of getting totally clean after 2/3 years of hydro addiction and 1 year of methadone treatment.  I went from chasing a high to running from withdrawals...but now is time for us to be still and let it all come back to us....Good Luck and God Bless you.

I like you attitude but if you run out with a cape on trying to save the world, they will trample you. Been there, done that. Lead by example. Get your "stuff" together and watch and see---they will want what you have and you can be there to tell them how to get it.
