Morphine Withdrawal question

My mother is currently being weaned from Morphine that she was prescribed for back pain for many months. Do any drugs prescribed for Morphine withdrawal cause slurred speech? When I speak to my mom on the phone, she sounds like a drunk person every time I talk to her. This has been going on for weeks now. She swears she's not drinking alcohol and says it's the drugs she's been taking for the withdrawal. Any info is greatly appreciated!

   Aloha Linda, I am weaning myself off Morphine as I write this and I was on about 90mgs every other day and about 30mgs on the other day, I am cutting back 10% off the 90mgs now and 5% of the 30mgs. I am making the cuts about every week to give my body time to adjust. I get a little edgy mentally but so far nothing physically yet, It may take a while but time is something I have plenty of and I am retired so do't have to worry about missing work.There are those hat try to cut more and good luck to them but I am trying to do this as painless as possible. I am down to bout 70 mgs and 20mgs and just want to finally get to 0 and 0 . Aloha,Wildog

It could be  a number of drugs they are using to detox her. Ask her what it is and we can give you more information.
