I think there will always be circumstances which we immediately want to use. We need the tools to fight that urge. You sound like you're doing great!!! Stay strong. You've been there before and you can do it again. We are all pulling for you.
Good idea....nothing better than making new friends that want to live their lives free of the chains of addiction~
Hey you could always see if there is a meeting today. You don't have to share if you don't want to. Just listen. Maybe you could make a clean friend.
When I got out of treatment this time I came home to a burglarized house. Someone let one of my dealers know that I was in treatment and he broke in my apt while I was gone stealing everything from my paper towels to my washer and dryer. It was very difficult for me not to use when I saw my destroyed apt. I have since been able to replace some of the things but it will take me months to replace it all. The best thing is that I didn't use and for that I am truly grateful.
Stay strong and understand that this is another hurdle that you can jump. Life will keep putting them in front of you but remain strong...this too shall pass.
You know what has helped me in the past get through some really tough times, is to look at the people in this world who have it SO much worse in life than I did (do). For example, back in 1998, I found out that I had a life threatening medical issue that required some huge sacrifices and a serious fight for survival (sometimes I have to laugh at myself that I was afraid to conquer my addiction). As I fought it when I felt low, I would take a walk through the ICU to remind myself of the people who had REAL problems. This would always ground me and put things in perspective. Please try to see this in your patients tonight. Good luck! 2 hours is nothing!
Hang in there buddy. The ride is worth it!!!

Stay strong... Stay busy... Anything to keep your mind occupied.. :)
Take a walk. Take a hot bath. Read. Watch an old movie. Do a jig saw puzzle. Freakin' knit if you have to. Do anything but just don't use!!!
this will pass. Hold on and things will get better.
I'm sorry you are feeling stuck and cooped up. Please don't throw your clean time away over not having a car. Get out and go for a walk if the weather permits, or just exercise inside to get some of that anxiety and frustration out. Everyone has troubles and setbacks, some more than others. We just have to suck it up and muscle through sometimes. Just do everything you can to stay busy and keep your mind off of the car thing and how bored you are. I know how much of a mental battle it can be. (Trust me I know! I did my detox in a semi truck. You want to talk about feeling stuck and bored!.) We are here for you. Feel free to PM me if you get bored, or just want to chat. You can do this!!
