Your totally cool!!!! and thanks for the words of incouragment. They DO!! really help.
There's absolutely no point in beating yourself up over this. Live and learn right? Most of us make this mistake but you caught yourself right away.
You dust yourself off, get up and keep moving forward. As sarah mentioned, the rebound pain happens to a lot of us (me included) and mine subsided a lot with time so give it a chance. Try the hot showers, baths and the OTC stuff - it really does work great for pain. Epsom salts too - they helped a TON with the body aches.
Now get back on track - you'll get there :)
Well I'm really pissed off at myself. I gave in last night and at around 1:30 a.m. got up after fighting my neck pain and took A PILL!!! total in the last 18hrs has been 2-pills. So i gave them ALL!!! to my husband so i can't get to them plus not sure why but got REALLY!!! sick to my stomach after taking them. Even with food. YUCK!!! maybe that's a good thing. My husband has a lot of back pain and he uses them. NOT ABUSES!! them at all like myself. I must say i layed wide awake in bed for atleast 2-hours before giving in. The pain was REALLY!!!! bad. Oh and after taking the 1-pill it didn't even do much for the pain and i WON'T!! and can't take more than one. I would be over the toilet if i did that. RALPHING!!!:((( please keep the positive words coming. I really need them!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for explaining this to me. My mind isn't at all right today I'm ALL!!!!! over the place. Even my vision seems different to me. WOW!! w/d really *****. I sure hope d-5 is better than today. I'm not feeling well at all. It seems like my W/D'S started later than what i had heard. Oh well guess were all different. Sorry for the S--ty spelling i can hardley focus on what I'm doing today. Thank God I'n retired and not having to go into a work place. I would have been FIRED!!! no dought for my nasty behaver:(((!!!
When you take opiates for too long the sensation of pain often increases. This is because opiates eventually reduce your brain's natural ability to ease pain. The brain has natural pain surpression chemicals that are greatly reduced when replaced by opiate feel good chemicals. When you stop opiates you are left with few feel good chemicals for a while until your brain replentishes it's natural feel good chemicals again. When I stopped opiates I had a sore hip that I thought might need surgery but within a few months of being opiate free the pain was gone becasue my brain's natural ability to surpress pain had returned...
You will feel rebound pain right now. Usually the pain lessens the longer you go. It is just your brains way of messing with you right now. Your doing great so keep it going~
days 3-4 are when the physical symptoms are said to peak in intensity and then it gradually gets easier and better after day 5. I had the muscle aches as well. Hang on, you are already past the halfway mark of the physical detox! And just think, you will NEVER ever ever ever have to go through this again as long as u keep those pills out of your system. It's a small price to pay for a mind, body & life free from pill slavery! You are doing great.
