Need to detox off fiorecet

Hi, I have been on fiorecet for about 3 yrs. I run out every month, substitue with some other pill, and go right back on them- even though I suffer sever depression, fatigue, laziness etc... Yep, an addict. My question is, what is the best way to de-tox at home? I have clonodine and ibuprofen available. Do I need anything more? I take about 10-15 a day. Any help would be greatly appreciaed Thanks. I need help, bad.

Hi there- Lulu got in touch with me for you so I hope you check back soon!  The first thing to know is that you cannot stop Fioricet cold turkey. It's dangerous and is likely to cause seizures. Slowly taper down a small amount over a period of time, like every week. You need to give your body time to acclimate to each decrease in dose.

Tapering is difficult mentally so do your best to commit to the process and just know that we will support you and help in any way we can.  I'm not certain how helpful clonidine will be. Did a doctor order it for you?  Have you asked the prescribing doctor to help with this?  That's a good idea...

Check back in and all the best!
