Needles and methadone

Hello,
My son has been going to the methadone clinic for about a year now. I think his dose is around 135 but he lies all the time and took me off the clinic call and check on him thing. Last night by daughter found insulin needles in the dryer from my sons laundry. He was on heroin before starting the clinic. He has been sleeping all the time and he told me he was selling the needles not using them. He looks and acts like he is on something else besides the methadone. Can you use heroin when you go the clinic everyday?
Thanks for any help.

We have a member here, gnarly, who knows a ton about methadone - and he's usually here late at night - so I'm sure if he sees your post, he'll respond.  He's great and very well-respected on this forum.

I'm so sorry you're going through all of this.

Hi there -   I'm sure you could combine both drugs or piggy back them and I'm sure it's done but it would be very bad! Just dangerous. 135 mg of methadone is a good size dose to begin with so if he's doing heroin on top of that he's asking for trouble.

I don't blame you for being concerned. He could respiratory arrest easily after a dose of heroin.  Best call the family together and agree on a plan of approach and then approach!

You might be able to call the clinic and tell them your fear. I think they'd want to know. I thought they did urine checks, no?

Stay in touch and let's hear what the others have to say-
