Hey I'm new here. Been dealing with terrible pain for a year now.  Been on and off pain pills. I.am currently on a low dose of oxy and I am doubling it just to have the pain go away long enough to clean my house and take my dog for a walk. I had a vicodin issue that I dealt with awhile back and I am trying to take days off, let my body remember it can function without pills. I am afraid of being addicted again and of the pain I wake up to every day. I have a gf but she doesnt work. Idk if she understands the pressure I feel to function normally while I am in so much pain. Anyways...that's where I am right now.

I'm at that point where paet of me wants to deal with it another way but at the same time I enjoy it. I am able to get things done without hurting which is great because the pain is horrible.  It's a mixed bag. Idk what I will do yet but I am glad to know I have support.

Welcome to the forum!  Do you want to quit the oxy's?  If you've had an addiction problem in the past with Vicodin....and you are doubling your dose of oxy's now....it sounds like it may be time to consider dealing with your pain w/o opiates, eh?

I got addicted to opiates due to medical issues....and found that towards the end of my addiction road....my pain was actually worse.  Have you heard of "opiated induced hyperalgesia" ?  We wear out our pain receptors (simply put) and our pain is no longer controlled by opiate use.

Of course, this is a decision only you can make....but we'll be here to support you.  Let us know what you decide and how we can help you~
