Night #7

Trying to exercise daily, taking potassium, magnesium supplements,, and daily multi vitamins... Drinking  protein and TONS of water. Still very restless. Evenings and nightS are the hardest for me. Depression on and off. Lots of anxiety. I try to take quiet time for myself in the evenings after work, working on my spirituality. I feel very bored and unmotivated even if I'm doing stuff, and lonely even when I'm with people. I hope this gets better soon. Here's to day 8 tomorrow. Gotta BELIEVE.

Hey Frick,

You are doing ALL of the right things.  You have a long road to heal up that brain of yours, the narcs really trash them.  Take solace I that it will slowly but surely get better, less anxiety, better sleep, better mood.

Hang in there, you are doing great!

Hey I completely understand the lack of motivation and energy.  It hits me in giant waves, along with the emotions.  I KNOW this ends because I read what everyone else says on here.   Our brains are readjusting to life without pills telling it how to work.   I have a super busy day today...minor wd symptoms seemed to have eased up this morning, so thank God for that small miracle so I can focus on what I need to do.   Take care my friend and hang on for your life!!!

Sounds like u have a plan!  I got depressed as well after i stopped.  Gss everyone gets depressed sometimes, but most addicts dont like any uggy feelings at all!  This was the hardest part for me....i slept and slpt, was tired all the time and i work full time.  Getting out of the bed was a major ordeal.  I know lots have the opposite prob, but we r all different.  I would have to say tyrosine in powdered form at 2,000mg a day with EmergenC along with exercise helped this lots.  NRG is sumpin most crave especially as we get older...the pills were mine and i no longer had them.  If u read other places, many suffer from low nrg who are not addicts.....The pills werent giving me nrg anymore anyway, just dragging me down piece by piece, along with my bank acct!

yes, you are doing ok... we all say it is a matter of time and it seems so much time that we get down.. don't ! :) it is indeed a matter of time, you will start with feeling great for an hour maybe.... then one good day will come and another bad after the good one... it is not a straight ahead road but it is for sure the right road you are on now so don't give up... I know that although you are trying everything you might feel that you don't feel much improvement by now... trust me, all the work you are putting on your recovery will pay off with time... stay proactive, don't let your guard down NEVER... anxiety can be a tough beast so i would advice you that working on relaxing techniques is a must, try some therapy to learn tools ... anxiety really took a toll on me and until i started therapy i didn't manage to get better... hey good luck and all the best, keep walking, frickazee... you have made the best decision, stick to it :)

Hey!  I'm sorry you can't sleep.  I wanted to tell you that you aren't alone.  I have been clean a couple of years, and it's 2 am here.  NO ZZZZ's for me yet.  You may find that, like I did, you don't "need" as much sleep as you think.  I hope you do, anyway.  It will even out, and at least when you can't sleep, it's not from WD, like me tonight.  I just can't.  Simple! : )

You're really doing great.  Don't get a panic attack over sleeping.  Tell yourself that you're trying to stay up.  Go to the living room or kitchen.....whatever, and turn the lights on and sit down or whatever you wanna do to pass time, and "try" to stay up.  I did that a few days into my WD, and it was actually better than fighting with sleep.  I wasn't as panicked when I had my mind on NOT sleeping.  I just cleaned or ate something or did a load of clothes.  ANYTHING to pass time and not stay in bed and flop around.  That's just not helpful!!

You really ARE doing well.  Just hang in there, don't use and the rest will take it's course.  Just be sure you do some aftercare soon!  That IS something that we all have in common......we can't stay clean without it!
