Hey & Welcome! Thank you for posting. You're in the right place. Are you saying that you want to come completely off by June? In a single month from 54 mgs.? Are you on a clinic right now? Or are you saying you have a month right now where you don't have funds to sustain your habit? The answer to these questions will help give us a better read on your situation, thank you.
Hi I agree with EnvolerU we need more info..But it sounds like to me 18 years would not be a long maintenance issue..just wanted to let you know we have a few that got off the Methadone in different ways..I was using it for 12 years at a way high does and ended up snorting it with another med..anyway I did got down to 30mgs and went c/t from 3 meds..I see you are almost my age..I sure would try to figure out a taper plan..It would be less stressful on you..But many on this form has c/t from meds and we are here today..So let us know whats up..Why by June?? Clinic or no Clinic a DR Should be able to taper you from the 54mgs..You can be free..Come on back!

Hi, Yes I'm in a maintenance program right now. I been going there for years. I was coming down but then i stopped at 54 mg. I just stood there till i felt better and I just didn't think of coming down sooner. So yes My medical will stop I think once my son graduates from H.S. I heard that my medical will continue till my son is 21 which would be great but I'm not sure how it works on welfare Have any suggestions?.
Obama care has changed all the rules. I think you will continue to get assistance, but would 't bank on it. Call and ask yor worker about what options are available. You don't want to jump off any higher than you have to. I failed methadone detox many times dropping too fast. Each relapse got worse. If you have no option, I would do a fast taper. When I was running low or out, I would do a week taper and it wasn't near as bad as just running out. I think there is help out there for you, especially if you are trying to get clean. Try not to panic and form a plan with whatever resources you can find. Keep us posted, I feel for you.
