withdrawl

hello:

just to any one trying to quit out there. I am coming off a 2 year rune on heroin. i am about 2 days in and have some clonidine from the doc. I am not going back to detox again. I have kicked cold turkey and made it three years. addiction sucks. I am a t work now and thursday is the test when i get paid. my doc tried to prscribe suboxene, but is not certified. I am trying to find a doc in the bucks county,pa area that will take on patients. my nose is runing, i am sweating and have to go the bathroom every 20 mins. The clonidine just knocks me out cold.slept for 14 hrs last night. try to sleep thru the withdrawl i guess.

I told my boss I had the flu and he believed me. I had to work too, and I know how hard it is. Good luck.

congrads on deciding to take back control of your life! heroin is a hard kick, many of my friends have kicked it, tried to kick it, or died because of it. just remember , if ya relapse, that if ya try to do your "normal" amount it will kill ya. had a friend detox, two weeks later bought dope , shot same amount as he usually did, and overdosed. please dont go back, and when ya do kick it, get some aftercare, like NA or a drug counselor. the mental addiction is the worst.. are ya sure you have clonidine, and not klonopin? i ask because you are the only one i have heard with clonidine putting ya to sleep. good luck, and keep posting, this forum and all on it will support ya thru all the w/ds, as well as the rest of the stuff that comes with cleaning up!

Jonjons...I wish I could sleep from the clonidine.I'm 10 days post subox and sleep,or lack of,has been the worst part of this whole thing.I was on pain pills for a back injury.I think the subox was a good thing but just make sure and know your options. If I had to do it all over again,I would have taken the subox only short term or done it long term with tapering the dose more than I did.I probably came off too soon and I'm having a tough time.Good luck and I'm sure you will get plenty more responses tomorrow...Kat
