Exactly what damage has being on methodone done to my body

I was on methodone for a year,the highest dose I ever took was 30mg.,before the methodone it was vic's 15-20 per day.I quit 10 days ago c/t off a 25mg. dose. Can anyone tell me in laymans terms what has this drug robbed my body of,can I do something to help the healing process? Is that why the withdrawl is so bad,because it attacks parts of your body?

   I personally havent seen or heard of anyone having any long term health issues from methadone, although their will be some who disagree & thats ok, now vicodin I know for a fact can damage the liver, & if taken long term can also cause other health issues, either way, neither of these drugs are good for our bodys, I went a few months ago & had a alt test to check my liver as I was worried about any damage I may have caused during my oxy days, I was fine.
