A little off topic,Pain question

Goodmorning,In the beginning that being in 1990,i was a tractor-trailer driver(the big rigs) As a result of unloading a heavy box in an unsafe bent over position,i experinced a sharp pain in my lower-back.Long story short,my 1st surgery was in oct.1990,5 months after the injury.I receaved a (Laminectomy, the part of the disc.that was pinching the nerve was cut away,i was happy with the precedure.I was an avid weight-lifter and athlete in judo, but my passion was bodtbuilding,my occomplishments included a 3rd place finish in the junior Mr. Canada championships in 1978,i also was active in the adult amateur b.b. championships. So as i loved to work-out,i rushed to get back in shape.Resulting in a 2nd back surgery in 1993,this time i wasent so lucky. I after the operation my problem was a r-leg (Drop FOOT) and a muscle wasting atropy making the calf muscles shrink away to nothing. My left calf is a muscular 18inch and the r-calf is13inches a 5 inch difference. Also as i got older my hips have mild &moderate osteo-arthritis. the moderate arth.causes pain, more of the problem is mobility,i have a hard time just putting on my sock and tying my shoes. As for the pain,i take 160mgs a day !x80&2x40mgs aday.On tuesday i start on Suboxone. Can anyone give me advice on arthritis and trtying to improve my hip mobility,as i like tro work-out,but i walk with a limp as a result of my stiff l-hip condition thanks john

my grandmother has arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and she gets injections of something called "enbrel"  maybe ask your doctor about this?  also she has to walk everyday or she stiffens up...there are some meds available for rheumatoid arthritis, but i am not sure if they work on osteo-arthritis...ask your doc about this med called enbrel...worth a shot...no pun intended...GL!!!
when she gets bad she will also get shots of cortizone...but she can only take advantage of this 3 or 4 times a year, but it does help her a lot...

Good morning. I can't be of any help on this but if you click on forums on the top of the page there is a forum dedicated to arthritis. You could probably find a lot more info on it there. Hope I was somewhat helpful!
