OXYCODONE ADDICTED Help! Does anyone know how do you come off Oxycodone please??

How do you come off oxycodone? I have been taking it for just over a year now and am getting concerned with the side effects: Memory loss, cognitive problems. I have tried cold turkey and it was torture. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can you taper instead of ct?  I tried both ways and tapering, was successful.  When I quit ct, literally at 60 days, I was still feeling like S%^t; tapering was a much more graceful way to stop.

Let me know if you're interested in a taper schedule tha worked 4 me...

Welcome, and congratulations on gaining the insight needed to recover. In order to give you some advice it would be best if you let us know how much you were taking a day. Most of us on here were taking pills that are opiates. The amount that you are taking everyday will make a difference on how difficult it will be to quit ct. If you are really on a high dose it might be better for you to slowly taper. I could not do this as I couldn't keep pills eating them all. Do you have someone that could hold them and give them out to you? Avisg is one of the community leaders and you can click onto her home page from one of the threads on the top of the forum. She has taper plans in her journals. Suboxone is a stronger opiate than Percs so you don't want to go on something stronger than what you are already on to taper. Look at the topics under health pages and there is alot of information. You will also get alot of good advise here. Try to educate yourself on your addiction and recovery as much as you can so you make the right choice for you. God bless. Corey

I don't know personally about that drug of choice, but my boyfriend was a former addact of it and to get off it he had to go to rehab (in-patient by choice) and he was prescribed SUBOXON...maybe you could check into it...hope this helps.
