Oh the Triggers!

As the damn weather changes, once again an onslaught of headaches! Those lil pills were so convenient to kill the pain. Oh so more effective than OTC's too! This here will divide the men from the boys. They're coming nearly everyday again. Disturbing work, sleep, exercise and time with the wife and my tiny monster.
I do not crave oxy's, percs or demerol. I crave relief. Sinuses have been acting up and sometimes its like my nose is packed with cement.
So what to do, what      to         do when it was just so convenient to pop-a-pill?
Acupuncture! I will be exhausting every traditional medicine possible as opposed to torturing myself with opiates/narcotics again.

You two are heroes!!   I know what it's like, also. I'm so very fortunate I don't have any frequent pain. When I do,I just push through with the otc's. I don't want to take anything!!

Even though opiates were not my DOC...I don't want to test THOSE waters now!!  LOL

I'm proud of you!

And Pharma,my beautiful friend,ONE YEAR!!!!  You be ROCKIN' !!!

I know how you feel poochie...my back still hurts, but I absolutely will not take any narcs for the pain even if I know they will probably help the pain.It is just not worth it.I can dull the throb with toradol and extra strength tylenol and warm packs.I just have to be careful when I move and live with the pain.
Taking opiates is just not worth the trouble.
Anyway ..I refuse to give in and ruin my clean record and the pain does subside somewhat
In September it will be one year clean from opiates..

I know that was long. I just want everyone to know I'm strong in my wills, maintaining my health and finding healthy alternatives to migraine prevention. I try to learn lessons the first time around. Whatever day free of pain killers I'm on, I don't want to ever be on that day again. Only go up.

Well, 2 B.C. powder's took a while, but I was headache free last night. I normally stagger them. Yesterday was two at a time and whew.........lil awkward feeling. I was without headache when I got home, so I did an Insanity video to help flush the system. Insanity also helps if I do it before I hurt too much. It forces more oxygen into the body from all the gasping. I completed the program early July, but still do a random video of my choice at least 5 days a week.
Back to the headaches. They normally happen shortly after lunch. What I'm eating has no bearing. I mix it up all the time. Chicken or Sushi most every day. Man I love some Sushi! I drink tons of water. I looked at my recycle today and determined its time to buy a pitcher and reusable bottles and save some money.
I hate coffee and work in the weather. Chai and Green Tea are delicious. My sodium intake is under 1000mgs a day, sugar is well under and carbs are under 200g a day. My health is on point. Its just these damn headaches that progress into nauseating migraines! Triptans. Frova, Zomig, Imitrex, Treximet.............no relief. That is how the vicious cycle started, nothing other than pain relievers worked.
Fear not, that path of travel is closed! Which reminds me, I need to clear my closet of all the anti-psychotics that I have tried as well. I've also taken beta-blockers, calcium blockers blah blah blah. This is an ongoing struggle. It seems exercise, healthy diet and not sweating the small stuff in life is most effective in prevention. Hopefully Acupuncture is my near cure........
To be continued. . .

Hey Poochie...  I get headaches, too. That's what got me into such a mess!

This is what I do for a morning headache, which is when I get them.

2 Sudafed
2 Excedrin extra strength
4 200mg Motrin
1 Huge cup of coffee

This generally works for me.  If not,I go to the triptans.

Sorry about this...:(
