I was on opiates for three years, tried to detox before but only lasted a few days because of the w/d's. I finally decided to end this addiction for good. I went in with a great attitude and a willingness to take on whatever came. I started working out like crazy a month before the detox and eating better- lots of fruits, veggies, and lean protein rich food. I did some research online about easing withdrawal symtoms and found this site. I combined the thomas recipe and amino acid protocol and started those one week before. I omitted a couple things tho- especially the benzos the thomas recipe called for, I didnt want ANY RX's just natural stuff. My WORST day was day one- and that was very tolerable. I have had hardly ANY symtoms. I feel better now than I have in YEARS! Im only on day 7.... please please try this method. Really try and mentally prepare and go in with a POSITIVE attitude. I also did a 'foot spa detox' on day one, and that may have helped as well. Alot of spas/chiropractors/salons have them for a small fee to use. If you would like, I can post exactly what I did/doing.
it is on the health pages too... i think this one can help you more before and after wds :)
ive read the thomas recipe but don't remember the amino acid part i actually wrote it down.thats good to know.
have you already read the thomas and the amino acid protocol ?
amino acids form the proteins, without them all the cellular development, respiration and renewal would cease... there are in the market good whey protein shakes you could take too...
can someone tell me what amino acids are? and what do they help with, what other vitamens besides the one on the thomas recipe can i prep for?
it is good that your doctor is helping you with the taper, tcprice ... check the amino acid protocol and the thomas recipe reposted and get ready before ... this can only help you too.... of, course, we will be here, don't be scared and feel positive :)
amino acids? i think preparing yourself is a great idea i am going to start weaning down off the perks starting tomorrow, i seen my Dr and he has me tapering down off them slowly to help with the withdraw symptoms, i am scared to death i am suppose to start a job soon and my husband is having surgery on Nov 5th, due i have time to detox and can i do it without missing work? Ive been a mental basket case for like a week now, i have severe insomnia can't sleep the past few weeks and when i do go to sleep i sleep till noon or one which is so not like me. the soonest my phyc Dr could get me in was on the 25th and my regular Dr on Nov 10th. i have detoxed before it usually last anywhere from 5 to 9 days and i end back on them. I just pray this time i can really do it and stay off. I have so much going on my husband needs me he's going to be down for 2 months and i have to work so we can pay our bills I'm debating if this is the right time to do this but at the same time if i stay on them I'm only getting worse. they get rid of the pain and make me have energy when i don;t have them I'm weak sick and miserable. I'm so confused right now any advice to help me through this situation so i can go ahead and detox so i can live my life would be great. i am so very thankful i found this place and all the support has been great plz don't give up on me and keep me strong and continue to give advice plz i need you guys for at least i have someone who i can relate to that understands.
I HIGHLY recommend the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid Protocol- I started taking MASS vitamins/aminos one week before my detox and Ive had hardly any symptoms! Just some sleep disturbance/some mental cravings... I cant say for SURE that this will help everybody, but it did for me- its worth a shot. I will post exactly what Ive been doing/taking later. Im on day 5, and other than exhaustion (today being the first day of it), I feel great! I felt better the past 4 days than I have in YEARS!!! Its weird... Where there is a will, there is a WAY! Believe in yourself!!
Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon!!
thank you i will continue to be on here and post here till i get through this i really hope soon i can do this i have a dr appt tomarrow so i will discuss everything with him and see what happens from there. im scared and worried but thanks to you i know im not alone. Thank you, when i do detox i will post and let everyone know when and will continue to post till i get through this.
I know it's hard to even think about stopping, I had them (percs)In a pj pocket so when I woke up I chewed about 5 10's just to get out oc bed. Walking around stiff and hurting to just function. I also have 2 kids I gotta get to school before I head to work. Then about every hour eating more just to function. I am on day 9 and for the first time in over 3 years I got outta bed, and went about my morning without the stiffness and just being uncomfortable til they kicked in. I also have been very depressed. Days 4-6 cried all day wanting to kill myself, not really because I have so much to live for but thoughts were there. Try the Thomas recipe, before you quit. I do belive it helped I just wish I found it before I decided my quit day. It's just a combo of vitamens and the blanket of depression has finally lifted yesterday. Good luck and prayers are sent your way. You can do this. Just keep telling yourself you can Think about your kids and imagine them Giggling and smiling at you 24/7.
Welcome back from opiate hell,That is the life style of which most of us have bin through.the greatest part of it is, you and the rest of us do not have to go back there.these small white yellow ,blue or whatever color pills take total control of our lives. When we are in our active addiction there seems to be no-hope or little hope. You are not alone with those feelings.I think when you feel that finally had enough of that crap, you too can make a difference and get on track to a better clean and sober life without opiates .good luck to you . My prayers are with you
Man I have been feeling that way for about five days. Yesterday I began to see glimpses of hope and if you let it run its course it will be over soon. Good luck with your husband. These pills are the DEVIL. Stay away.!!! Try not to take anymore, I know its hard because I have been an addict for five years and just recently stopped cold turkey so I know the feelings you are experiencing.
The Sky Is The Limit
Hi :)....
we all have felt like you, don't lose hope, pls :) ... there is always a way ... you could ask for help to your doctor ... and make a taper plan ... what did you take the percs for ?
It's never too late...goto your doctor and explain your situation. I'm sure they will work out what is best for you. Also during your recovery this forum really is great. Everyone is so friendly and supportive.
Best of luck to you..
