Well I can only tell you my experience with this. My drug was oxy and  the second time I detoxed I had also lost a lot of my taste and smell. I also railed them so I thought that I might never get it back but just a couple weeks after I quit my sense of smell and taste came back in a big way. Food tasted delicious but the sense of smell coming back was a mixed blessing..things that smelled good smelled great but bad smells were enough to make me sick.

Chances are you will find that your senses come back just a short time after quitting. Not to mention some other "senses" you will find have been absent for awhile (libido :) That's the fun part about detox, suddenly you see and feel all the stuff the pills numbed on you. How far along in detox are you? I'm not yet clean from my latest round of stupidity but not doing too bad either. Not snorting oxys anymore and tapering off of sub. Down to 4 mgs and just gonna keep going til I hit 0. But just a little advice, get aftercare. It makes all the difference in the world.

Yes you can and do.  It all depends on the person but it seems mine came back after a couple weeks........
