Oxymorphone Withdrawal

I am going through serious withdrawal. I suffer chronic back and hip pain and my doctor can't seem to find the source of the pain. So I started to medicate myself. I started off with oxy 30s. then I started dating a guy who also is in chronic pain and when I would start getting "sick" from not being able to get the 30s he gave he some of his oxymorphone, opana, and I don't want to continue taking his meds anymore. I have went through withdrawal from oxycodone before and it was bad but mostly just sweats, diarrhea, and body aches for a couple days. However now that it has been 24 hours since I have had anything my stomach is hurting so bad and I am puking foam. I can handle the sweats and handle the body pains but my stomach is hurting so bad I can barely move and I can't stop crying. I have taken anti nausea meds and imodium ad even pepto but my stomach, probably from my chrones disease and ibs is killing me. My man keeps trying to give me a half of his 10mg opana but I'm afraid if I take it that my withdrawals will just keep getting worse. I don't know what to do and no one knows that I have this addiction problem! I didn't realize I had a problem until I looked at my bank account and I was in the negative. I need help but I am afraid to tell my doctor or anyone else that I have a problem! What should I do? Please help me!

P.S.- Kudos to you for refusing your man's stuff. That is HUGE. You feel like total sh it but you said no. Do you know how amazing that is?

Also, the constant crying is the detox, too. We've all been there.

Hi, I feel for you. And got great advice above...PLEASE take it. I just want to reassure you how many people over the years have been terrified to tell their dr., partner, friends about their addiction and I have never heard anyone regret it. It's always such a relief. The more folks you tell, the more support you have. You need support. NOT you bf who is using, but clean people in the know.

Your terror is the emotional part of the detox too. That's normal. Hey, you reached out to us. You can do this!!!!!

It is true that for most people going CT is generally not dangerous.  How  ever, if you have an underlying health issue, it's best to be under the care of a doctor.  And it's really easy to become dehydrated during withdrawal and being dehydrated makes everything worse and in and of itself, dehydration can be a problem.  Crohns is a serious disease.  It would be much better for you to enlist the help of your doctor.  Most people are very surprised how supportive their doctors are.  If you're having a hard time keeping fluids down, you may need to get some IV fluids at the ER.

PS

DO NOT TAKE THE OPANA!

It is a very strong drug and going backwards will not help you.  I know it's hard when it's being pushed in your face but tell your man if he loves you he will take you to the hospital so you can get real help and NOT offer you the drugs that are poisoning you.
If he cannot do this (other addicts will want us to keep using to make themselves feel better) then you need to reach out to someone else- a friend or family member who will SUPPORT your desire to get clean,
No one does this alone honey, and no one has to.
Sending you hugs

Awe honey I totally feel for you.  First of all, I commend you for wanting off the drugs- they are no good for chronic pain and REALLY not good for those of us with Crohn's (I am a fellow Crohn's patient)
I think you need to contact your doc and come clean, or even go to the ER.  Dehydration is VERY dangerous especially during detox (As a Crohn's patient you KNOW how bad this can be)
Your doc can prescribe a bp med called clonidine which is commonly prescribed in opiate detox and helps IMMENSELY with the symptoms you are having.  You may need to be rehydrated at the hospital.
I know your scared but you are NOT alone and should not be.  Because of your medical condition it is imperative that you do this properly.  You are at risk of doing real damage to yourself.
Plus, our secrets keep us sick and even though you are scared, telling the truth really does set you free.  You have to trust me on this one.
Please seek some medical care and we can help you through the rest, okay?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
Sending support...
